Ingonator wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:44 am Just re-installed V-Station after not having used it for a while. Latest verison i found in the Novation account is v2.6 which includes both a 64-bit VST2 and 64-bit VST3 plugin. A new authorization was necessary but this worked nicely and very fast.
This entirely factual and somewhat useful post without a controversial word in it has been voted down by two people. Why?
cos even the Great Ingo has haters in this forum

It's only because someone else was so disgusted with the sound that they decided to run it through a distortion pedal that it became famous. Still, I bet no-one remembers which distortion unit it was but, for whatever reason, everyone knows it was a 303.
I like experimental combinations of filter, reso, attack and decay but without distortion isn't even close to acid,so partially agree about distortion :)
By the way is there such thing as classic settings for acid?

Yep, unfortunately .-/

They should have ship them with modern presets (i did them all with V-Station in 2008):

Last year I really took the plunge and needed something quick, dirty and reliable to get a couple tracks going.

V-Station was the perfect tool but it turns out there are still a few bugs in it that made it a bit painstaking.

Also the filter, while quite nice wasn't really as useful as I thought it would as I needed something quite bright (opposite of what the filter did).

The EQ really made it shine in my tracks.

In the end, I was just using 3 oscillators, some effect and EQ.

How so? We see all kinds of synths being used to make that useless acid sound, the 303 was just the one someone happened to use the first time anybody noticed. If the guy had hooked a MiniKorg 700 up to his distortion pedal instead, you'd all be creaming your jeans over that. In its day, the 303 sounded awful and everyone hated them. I ended up having to give mine away, no-one was willing to pay money for them (I had two).

BONES wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:44 am I find it very useful when I want to agree or disagree with someone but everything I would have to say on the subject has already been said by others.
So people disagree that version 2.6 of V-Station is the latest version, and that it is 64-bit VST2 and VST3, and that there is a new authorization process involved. Makes sense.
This is another perfect example of something I was discussing with el-bo yesterday. I'm not people, I'm just me and I only spoke about what I find useful about the voting system. You have no reason to extrapolate what I said and apply it to everyone else. The stupidity of others is out of my hands.
Don't fool yourself, it's a popularity contest, nothing more nothing less.
Of course it is, that's what it is there for. You give a thumbs up to an opinion you share. Lots of votes shows that it is popular with others. Similarly, you down-vote something you disagree with. Lots of thumbs down shows it is unpopular with others. Again, it is only a problem if people are too stupid to be able to separate personalities from opinions and facts. So if you want to say that the voting system is flawed, then you to agree that most of the people around here are complete f**king idiots.
