If it's in the song, I'll use it. I want the arrangement to be as close as possible.

Well I may not have a choice if I can't figure out the entire arrangement exactly, but preferably, I want this as close as possible.

12th and final track from my upcoming CD "Disco Everywhere"

Well, it's finally done. The production notes for this thing would fill a book. I can't even begin to tell you all the technical problems I had, not the least of which was that the song was completely out of my range and thus had to do some technical wizardry to get it to sound as good as it does.

The arrangement is a good part of the original but I did leave a few things out because there was just too much and some of the parts I simply could not figure out.

Anyway, I'm no Ralph Carter and I had no way of getting a hold of the Marvelettes so the vocals are what they are. But all in all, I think I did a respectable job.

When You're Young And In Love

Spring's in the air
There's magic everywhere
When you're young and in love
Life seems to be
A world of fantasy
When you're young and in love

Each night seems just
Like the Fourth of July
When stars spangle the sky
The moon at night
Seems to shine twice as bright
When you're young and in love

Dreams can come true
If you believe they do
When you're young and in love

Though many teardrops
Are bound to fall
True love will conquer all
When you're, when you're
Young and in love

Trust and you'll find there's no mountain you can't climb when you're young and in love

(When you're young and in love)

Though many teardrops
Are bound to fall
True love will conquer all
When you're
When you're
Young and in love, oh, yeah

When you're young in love
When you're young in love
When you're young in love

A very respectable cover indeed.
Is that a vocaloid at 1:41? Nice.
One or two vocal melody notes a little to high for you and a strain, but overall good.
You inspired me to have a go at Disco/Funk. I have a song in the oven now. Should be a few days before its ready though.

Actually, I wasn't straining at all. I couldn't sing this song. So what I did was sing a harmony part for the high notes and then, after the fact, moved them with variaudio. They shouldn't sound strained but probably with the movement, some artifacts crept into them. That was my only option to even get this thing done. Without a doubt the hardest thing I ever attempted.

** EDIT ** Combination of Realivox Ladies for the ooo's and ahs and Vocaloid on the sung parts with words.

I am starting on my next project. The CD will be titled "Mad Scientist"

You can probably guess it's not going to be pop disco.

Vurt, this one may just be right up your alley.

As nerve wracking as that last track was, I really enjoyed doing it. My only wish is that I had some really good background singers. I think it deserved better than Realivox Ladies and Vocaloid. And certainly my voice was way out of its comfort zone trying to sing the part of a 14 year old Ralph Carter who hits an "A" in his sleep. Technology played a huge part in my getting this thing done, which is why I didn't even attempt to do it 43 years ago.

Good arrangement and mix. You are so productive, I cannot believe it...
Glad you said it yourself - not your voices comfort zone. Why not sing it an octave lower? Okay ... then it would no longer fit the "young" part of the title.

Things that came to my mind:
Why not end every CD now with a version of "Young and in love". I think the mad scientist version could be epic, but I really look forward listening to the death/black metal version ;-)

And last but not least - for the mad scientist project - never, really never underestimate killer vegetables: https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Profes ... r_Gangreen

That was a very close cover. Did you use the MODO guitar?
If you’re doing a mad scientist one, please do a cover of a Dr. demento song :D
Or ‘She Blinded Me With Science’.
And do a song about robots, I think a song about evil robots would be awesome as can be!
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.
