Sorry^^
Beats does NOT have perfect templates for the MK3, lol. They are great templates, but not perfect. My initial reaction was OMG PERFECT!!! Because of how shocked I was that they worked at all hahah.
Over time Ive found some minor issues, such as pitchbend isnt bound to anything by default and must be mapped or learned, and the Q-link knobs dont turn correctly when controlling them with the MK3. They glitch and wont turn, and sometimes reverse and turn the wrong way. May be a config issue for me to figure out with that. Cant change pad banks from the MK3 hardware, and changing pad banks in software leaves the MK3 unable to play any sound until you swap back.
Template adjustments need to be made, but this is a great start!

It's not your configuration. It's just buggy
If you sell the mk3, get the MPC hardware then
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!!!!! I *love* the MK3, and I love most of maschine2, but it is a glaring issue for NI to have missed making poly AT available inside maschine2. Ive spent some time checking out the MPK series, I own an Advance49, Ive also checked out MPC Live, One, etc, and that workflow just doesnt inspire me enough to spend the $$. I dont have any plans to produce on the go, either. Im all desktop, and I wouldnt have it any other way. So the MK3 is perfect for me.EnGee wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2020 11:02 pm It's not your configuration. It's just buggyIf you sell the mk3, get the MPC hardware then

Volume on master defaults to like -84db/off. Default midi channel is "all". Did you get that far?K82 wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2020 11:25 pm I can not get my mpk mini mk2 working with mpc beats. Does anyone know how to solve this ?

Yes I agree with you. It doesn't make sense to have MK3 and buy an MPC. I had MK3 Mikro but sold it with Komplete 12. I actually replaced them with Live 10 Suite/Push2. I thought first to buy an MPC One but I preferred the Live/Push combo. All three setups are great though, but I would choose just one of them only.Milkman wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2020 11:40 pmHELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!!!!! MPC has the best beats making IMO followed by MK3/Maschine leaving Push 2/Live in the third place (IMO of course). But for me overall and because of the excellent integration with Live, it is Push 2

Having a hard time getting sound from Beats inside cubase 10. Works fine standalone. It gets correct midi data on correct channel, displays it, Beats midi meters show activity, but no audio plays. Preview sounds in browser work inside Beats, but midi does not seem to trigger sounds inside Beats. Cubase sees midi data from Beats. Im noob. Cant make it make sounds. wtf
EDIT: it will only work in cubase when MPC is set to omni midi for that track. It receives midi (meters show it, midi monitor reads out correct midi data) when assigned to individual channels, but will not play back sounds unless its on omni.

I think this is a cool move from Akai to get more people in to the MPC workflow. New Loops MPC Expansions also work in this free version!!

On top of it installing everything to C:/ it also bugs me that it doesn't work great with high-DPI screens - some things seem to be low-res bitmaps and they're simply blurry, other elements leave "trails" when moving, e.g. the playhead

If Akai planned Beats as a gateway to MPC, then it works - I just ordered MPC One and it should be here by the end of this week

Thanks! I'm going on 2-week holidays in mid-August so I thought it would be great to have something to produce music on without a computer. I'm really excited for it

Good plan! I believe you'll be more productive without a computer because you'll concentrate on it. Really wonderful for dance music
Yesterday I was playing around in Beats and it made me curious how to do trance and house. I also liked a lot the RnB demo. Anyway, I'm a little bit old for that now! So, I returned to my 'gloomy' style in Live Arrangement view

So it's possible to make dope beat(z) with it and then export the beat as wav file to my DAW?
Aren't eight tracks too less for creating a complex beat?
How good are the AIR effects? Better than the REAPER on-board effects?
(Thanks to my ever-young avatar nobody knows that I'm 44, too)

Yes.Tricky-Loops wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2020 9:51 pmSo it's possible to make dope beat(z) with it and then export the beat as wav file to my DAW?
No, if you use them right. You can squeeze a lot in Drum Program on a single track, that gives you access to 128 individual one-shots, so you can put whole drum kits there, vocals, FX, bounced sequences that you've created on other tracks with plugins or samples, etc. Each of the 128 sounds can have its own effects chain, etc. On top of that you've got sends, sub-mixes, etc. It's a lot, really.Tricky-Loops wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2020 9:51 pmAren't eight tracks too less for creating a complex beat?
But even without going really nerdy, 8 MIDI + 2 audio tracks is plenty of space to produce something meaningful, unless you need to fill the sonic stage with sounds to hide absence of idea. I see this all the time in psytrance, where people repeatedly have 100+ tracks of FM farts and lazer squelches, but you can't tell 10 tracks apart for shits...
