I really like the sound of those. Apart from the Nova's, I think those have the best sound of the Novation VA's.

Yes definitely I think they sound great. Im a big fan of novation. A friend of mine recently cleared out his studio and gave me a supernova 2 which sounds lovely. I did an a/b test against the ks just for the sake of geeking out and it was almost identical, the ks was a little brighter and thinner sounding, but with a little eq I couldn't tell the difference. But that's without any filtering and I believe they are quite different in that respect. Supernova is a lot more synth overall but it's so quick and easy to dial in a noise on the ks.

I believe the ks and v station are the same engine, without the extra waveforms in the hardware

I like V-station but I can't use it until they update the patch browser and GUI. If Novation are unwilling they should give it away to the Open Source community and someone will modernise the skins.

Yeah the V-station is based on the K-station, they even share the same patches. The filters were improved on the KS and they have some additional features over the V- and the K-.

Can't somebody just reassemble the code and change this?

I love the arp but it doesn't sync with the host since some update...

Yes, if you want to break copyright laws.

And, frankly, I can only shake my head about the notorious "give it away to the Open Source community" stuff. 1. It's patch compatible with Novation's hardware synths, which means that it's a tight framework, made for compatibility, which will be broken when someone else extends the code. 2. There's the name "Novation" on it, and, I highly doubt that they'd want to give the software out of hands, have no more control over the quality of the software, or what other people do with it. And, 3. , which also has been mentioned dozens of times, if V-Station relies in parts on third party code, which wasn't released under a Open Source license, it can't be done anyway.

Really wished people would stop demanding such unrealistic things.

It would be much better to send feature or bug fix requests to Novation, and see if they still work on V-Station. For example, for the most obvious bug, the LED's which indicate the voices playing don't work.

Yeah but WHO cares? Novation not. They don't even fight against piracy (anymore), don't sell the plugin anymore and only some resellers drop it away for 10 bucks 'n stuff...

I don't need new features in the V, only a working version! Especially the arp... but i would love also more than 8 unison voices etc.

It's funny that some similar synths exist (with 3 osc + fm, unison etc.) but sound very different.

They did some fixes but ignored the really important bugs. Maybe they CAN'T fix deeper stuff because the original coder is gone...

The arp bug exists since several years...

Your source for those claims?

It's obviously ;) They didn't react to reports since years...

But instead of the "open source solution" maybe someone just sits down and makes a "clone" from scratch... maybe with some more features...

Wait for Behringer then :hihi:
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I just wish the arp would sync to host properly
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Post

Novation should really update the v-station skin and make it resizable... like Waldorf with their Largo by the way... it's all about $$$

Post

I guess they simply don't see it as worthy of throwing any resources at, which is a shame

I've been using it a lot lately. I'ts a great synth.
