Are you planing on adding Attack boost/spike/punch (on virus ex) knob that boosts a bit the random clicks in the attack ? :)
Not as a feature of the envelopes per se. But your can easily do it already, so this feature would be a bit redundant - and maybe gets in someone's way if they don't need it.

We much rather make videos to educate how things work, and why not make a tutorial for spikey things? :clown:

I know how to do it, but having dedicated one that doesnt use envelope or lfo (ex hive that only has 2 of them) is much more prefered :) also it saves time :)

ah ok. Can't wait then :)
as i said in a few other threads, u-he synths spoiled me badly

In Hive, assigning a Function Generator Env output in its default setting on any volume/gain parameter is pretty much a spiky thing. Set Attack to 0, Decay to 10 or something and that's it. Plus, full control over shape, punchiness, amount, everything & everything available as mod target.

Thanks, i usualy do this with pitch to env, but i also tried your way. Unfortunety it doesnt give same effect (actually even on maximum values it barely produce the spike, maybe i do something wrong?) as punch/spike/attack boost on vps avenger, virus ti/viper and rapid. The way you gave, the spike was hearable only when sustain was down, but thats not the effect mentioned synths give. They give the spike even when decay and sustain are full open. The sound has the punch, percussivnes.

Sure, it probably needs a tutorial or example patch to see how it's best done and match whichever other synth's implementation.

Admittedly, I haven't even ever watched a youtube video about any of these synths or features (though I remember "boost" to be something else in the Virus), but based on the description people gave, I see no reason why it wouldn't be possible in Hive.

in the virus, wasn't spike/punch a single hit sample/WT?

The way right now I'm able to replicate similar behaviour is by having oscillator semi to envelope with all to zero and a little bit of decay set to random. But you see, it wasted precious mod envelope.

Don't know really about that. But on Serum you can do that with a percussive sample, also on Phase Plant. On dune I replicate that with pitch or half rect effect on filter.

yes, D3 has a dedicated WT for one hit transients.... wasn't sure if that's how it was implemented in the virus

It's not gonna be free, but it won't cost the world either. I think it'll be €30 (we originally thought 30 bucks, but that as before we switched pricing to Euro). Also, it'll be free for owners of Zebra2 and The Dark Zebra.
