Picked a lousy example to rant about as the Samples from Mars bundle discount is legit and they sell the separate packs at those prices most of the year. Unlike a company like Soundspot or AIR who have sales on 11 months of the year.

Their samples might be nifty, but it's the absurd 97% off bit. While there is dishonesty in sales and marketing, I've never seen it so ridiculous until I got into computer music making.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Again, how is it absurd when it’s truthful? They sell about 40+ packs of samples at around $30 each, but also sell a big bundle of them with a huge markdown.Dirtgrain wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 4:35 pm Their samples might be nifty, but it's the absurd 97% off bit. "You can get the Black Rooster Audio Compressor Bundle for just $249 (normally retailing for $684) by using the Voucher Code".dermage wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 8:17 am Back then it seemed to be an oversight, that they gave out private codes which could be applied to the whole discounted bundle. Agreed about the 70% BF discount on all BR. It seemed very plausible initially that BR would secretly be okay with the slightly-less-than-70% discount being applied to other items, especially non-sale items. But given their past reaction, it's probably just an oversight on their part....

It presents as if anybody would pay full price for the whole package, as if it is worth it. I don't know how else to put it that a 97% off sale calls into question the entire pricing scheme.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 5:33 pm Again, how is it absurd when it’s truthful? They mean you save 97% off the combined price of buying the individual packs. It's pretty obvious.
And they do sell those individual sample packs - because the 'all' pack only covers their library at the time you buy it, anything added afterwards you either have to buy separately or in an annual pack which contains all the sample packs they released that year.
These sorts of deals are much more worthy of pointing and laughing at...

And, yes, I'm even boring myself by continuing this discussion. Someone please release an actual must have bargain soon!

Yeah, but as said, this time they knew they give out codes and could have checked especially what it applies to. Meaning: on the previous $85-Solidarity-Stay-home-All-Bundle they forgot they gave out 90%-off private codes before the actual sale which also applied to this bundle, this brought the price to below $10 for the bundle.Ou_Tis wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 5:53 pm"You can get the Black Rooster Audio Compressor Bundle for just $249 (normally retailing for $684) by using the Voucher Code".dermage wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 8:17 am Back then it seemed to be an oversight, that they gave out private codes which could be applied to the whole discounted bundle. This time they knowingly give out a code and must know people will apply it possibly to all their products. It's a different situation here IMHO. And the "oversight" would be acceptable this time. I get it that the last bundle was just a rip-off for below $10, but this time ok, 70% as with their BF sales seems not causing too much harm, and they may know that.

Thanks for that. And I guess on the topic of warnings about no mention in product info - I had bought Xhun Audio's Iron Axe when Jrrshop had it on the $22 sale recently, there was no mention that that plugin is 32bit only! As soon as I realised this (during the installer) I requested a refund. Im still waiting on this refund now a month later :/Harry_HH wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 8:54 pm Just will warn the potential buyers, Audioplugins deals gives inadequate information of one of their latest deals, the Beatskillz Samplex.

Under British retail law setting fake high prices to make the sales seem like bargains is deemed illegal. I think some bed and sofa retailers have been caught on that.Dirtgrain wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2020 6:21 pmIt presents as if anybody would pay full price for the whole package, as if it is worth it. But wasn't BRA one of those who don't do sales often? I remember hearing about their products and someone saying that.
I don't know about Samples from Mars. I do know Air and Sonivox did used to sell those products at the higher prices....10+ years ago. Same as Waves. They are just older products that, instead of lowering the prices, they have constant sales. And? Everyone seems to be doing sales more and more. It's becoming standard rather than special. And I spend way too much on stuff I don't really need.

No company should be selling 32-bit plugins that don't have a 64 version
