Yep, right now I've got a Ubuntu 20.04 amd64 to do tests and two Ubuntu 16.04 (32/64) to create builds, but I'll install an rpm-based 32-bit distro to have more testing capability.

It's working fine in Ubuntu Studio 19.10, Reaper 5.9, mAudio sound,
kernel 5.3.0-62-lowlatency #56-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT
...after adding one missing dependency, libxcb-cursor0
details below the pic. Sounds and looks great! Banks and singles
also import and sound great, as in the pic
EDIT: please use
sudo apt install name-of.deb
instead of
sudo dpkg -i name-of-.deb
Doing this will install both the plugin and the dependency I mention below!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
me
sudo dpkg -i /home/me/NilsK1v-amd64.deb
gives error message
"dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of nilsk1v:
nilsk1v depends on libxcb-cursor0 (>= 0.0.99); however:
Package libxcb-cursor0 is not installed."
I open synaptic package manager, and it lists the K1 as a 'broken' package that must be removed
I apply the remove action, and it installs the missing libxcb-cursor0
Then I re-run sudo dpkg -i /home/me/NilsK1v-amd64.deb
and it completes the install. me
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I then moved K1 to /home/me/.vst, (along with the PHm banks and singles)
a standard vst path for many, as it is easier to browse to, the few times such is needed.
Cheers

Shown working in Ubuntu Studio 20.04, EDIT: (jplease note the edit above to more properly install this excellent instrument!!
just use sudo apt install name-of,deb
EDIT I changed permissions of the K1 plugin to me instead of root around the same time as the scanning episode, since I moved the plugin to /home/me/.vst, so the following may or may not be relevant here:
'It also may be the case that in Reaper at least, the variety of dev kits used by plugin
creators , old and current, may pose conflicts.
In this case, the K1 would not scan until a plugin called Sigma, a nice AmpSim from Audio Assault, was removed. Strange, but when I restored Sigma from the Trash, both worked fine' (plenty of room for anxious user error, when I'm polishing new jewels!

JV-1080, and the joystick works like the one in Alchemy,
so some sonic carvings can take place if there is an undesired
componant. Yes, I'm a bit slow to notice the obvious

Thanks a lot, this is great feedback!
Interesting that you try to install via dpkg.
if you use apt install ./NilsK1v...deb instead, the dependencies are installed automatically. I thought that this is the "usual" way, especially for Ubuntu.

I think your way is the preferred way! I use dpkg for little things that I
(might wrongly) assume have no dependencies. btw, the sitar from the
PHm module, especially in the upper registers, is excellent!
But now I'm hungry for curry, when I prepped for bar-b-que chicken
(I corrected my earlier posts

Working great in Tracktion Waveform 11 Pro, under Windows 10, but needs a wY to "close" the VST. Once opened, it stays put on the screen.
Very lovely graphics work, Nils.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Cool track, @Andywanders! This sounds better than I expected, considering it was using stock K1 sounds (which are still cool and fun in their own way). Most of the demos I've heard on YouTube lately are just one preset at a time, or no effort was made to add effects and think outside of what the K1 "should" do. I've been looking for something like this for a few days. Yours and a couple that use the K1's core samples to create "drones" and "electronic music" (like the one posted here shortly after the K1v was released) are the standouts. (I apologize if I've missed any others here. Please let me know!)Andywanders wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:20 am Had nothing to do this morning so I whipped up a quick demo track with the K1v.
All K1v sounds and the only processing was some dynamics and EQ on the kick & snare, a little chorus on the EP, and a touch of reverb & delay.
Thanks Nils for this fantastic freebie.
Enjoy...

Speaking of updates Nils, I went to your site to grab the latest version. I was on my DAW, which didn't have your site bookmarked, so I did a Google search. I found that this page (https://www.nilsschneider.de/wp/categor ... emulation/) seems to be out of date, but it's the link to the K1v provided in your "Categories" on the right-hand side of the page. I think most of us get there now from the link you have here on KVR, but anyone who uses Google to find your site may end up a bit lost. There's a listing for "the product page" near the bottom, but since it's after the out-of-date versions, it might be a bit confusing. I'm sure this isn't a priority for you now, but I thought you might like to know.
Thanks again for this cool synth!

The performance in Ubuntu 18.04 has been very good and without problems.
for the moment I can only thank this native linux version.
I will make a donation when my work is reactivated

NilsK1v happily diffused in Puppy Linux (Bionic64 Pup) kernel 5.05
which already had libxcb-cursor installed, so a click on the NilsK1v.deb
launched the Puppy installer (apt is not installed) and all is well

Hi,
Just tested K1 with Linux Mint system with Tracktion Waveform 11,
just got one problem,
In Edit mode, when choosing sound, the waveform list has been shown but very very small.
the operation is completely normal to choose a sound,
but very hard to see the fonts in waveform list.
anyway , sound super.
