it is intresting but in your example video you post i hear not the missing fizzle of real speaker.
with load box i conform it can sound diffrent because the L and C and R work as a EQ linear depend on frequency i think. but the sound you can get with EQ too. with the delaymod you can get the high freq fizzle that have real speaker. I like the sound, i hear when it is miss. when measure the speaker output the frequency of amp is in the impulse. when use a loadbox and measure the impulse again then get same sound in IR as with loadbox. I measure my guitar cabinet with the valve amp over FX return(only power amp is use) it look as this. what the amp output i have not measure.

The load box designs in the thread are flat to within .00008 dB...so no, the LRC is not an EQ because of the way the components are wired together...the LRC is a reactive load. You should investigate learning a SPICE software so you can model circuits and discover what they do, since you seem to have an interest in that sort of thing. I personally prefer LTSpice since its both good and free, plus a lot of people use it so you can get help if you need.

As for what you hear, just go with whatever sounds good to you. If you don't like the sound of a Marshall into a reactive loadbox and into a quality IR, by all means stick with your solution.

because the amp reach a diffrent frequency response depend on load box, then the output is change in frequency and give a diffrent sound. i think it can reach with EQ too. to verify, maybe you can record some loadbox examples and use a match EQ (freeform EQ for example) . and when another record sound same with the match EQ setting then you know that the loadbox sound can reach with a EQ too.

The curves reflect reactance between the power amp and the load... Note the curves are for one specific power level and they would look noticeably different at a different power. Reactance varies over both frequency and power, meaning its a three dimensional property best viewed on a three axis graph.

This is why preamp out, EQ, IRs, older software amp sims, and analog speaker simulator boxes all sound so horrible and two dimensional and have no "touch". All of those solutions are in fact two dimensional with respect to reactance.

Add reactance to the equation and they get a lot closer, quite acceptably so in the case of IR. The latest and best software amp sims now mimic reactance in code, which is why they are finally acceptable to the best players: put a high quality IR after them and they sound great.

As for me, I'll use the load box with my various tube amps and of course use MELDA plugins :wink: in my amp FX loops via a patched in laptop running the awesome Cantabile host for live performance.

which software amps you know mimic reactance in code ? . I have some torpedo wall of sound speakers, but i think they sound not good, when use the amp sim. torpedo build load boxes too. do you think torpedo wall of sound mimic reactance in code ? I thought when use mid gain distortion or more, the frequency change of amp does not change much because when look at the recordet output the signal mostly have same positive and negative level in clipping area

I'm pretty sure Fractal is doing it, not sure about the one you mention... Unfortunately Fractal is expensive.

BTW, what is your goal? Is it to be able to get the right tone at low volume or something else?

Yes i wish a good sound, when i hear at 80 db level that fit good in the mix. when i play with my guitar or guitar VST and hear it on amp and speaker it fit good in mix. but when i use software amp sim IR impulse it sound muddy. hear in my video when i not use the delaymod.

and btw i have kali lp 6 speakers that i calibrate with roomeq. so when i use a marshall amp and a marshall speaker sim it should sound at least simular to my amp and speaker. i dont know how they record. maybe they record that it sound only good at 110 db. with such high db it sound better when high freq is reduce. but hifi mixes should be sound good at 80 db

You might try the Overloud TH-U product demo. I've heard some good sounding demos that makes me think they model reactance. TH-U is definitely on my to-do list to demo when I get the time. I've heard a lot of good things about it from several pro players.

That would be dB then. It has a very different chart than reactance.

I think you can get to where you want to be with the right software sim or a loadbox and some high quality IRs (OwnHammer, Redwirez, Celestion, etc). And of course MELDA plugins :wink: in your FX loop.

Redwirez offers a free 4x12 IR thats decent as an introduction to their paid offerings. I bought the latest IR bundle from OwnHammer and love it. I also tried some of the freebie IRs on the net and they were truly awful to my ears.

fractal do only Hardware. maybe the developers that do hardware too, do it better. th-u i try several times, i think it sound not good, but a little better as bias. line 6 vst i test long time ago. because it can only test some time, now i can not test if i can tweak it better with the help of this video. The video you post is very intresting thanks, the sound i think good. I have a mooer GE150. this have also good sound even with the buildin speaker sim. they release a ipad version. maybe a PC VST version come soon too from mooer this is very intresting. i wish all can do with vst and sound good as real hardware

I found that what separates good from not good is the quality of the IR. Since you like metal, you might want to check out OwnHammers different collections and listen to some of Jon's demo songs for them. This particular IR collection is suited for metal and Jon's demo songs all sound strong (though not all are metal oriented): https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.p ... cts_id=416 Of course use MELDA plugins in you FX loop and DAW :)

I have mcabinet this can load IR files and let them modify with the builtin features to create resonance or make them fatter, use EQ on it. maybe you like try it out(demo work with noise after some days) when you think IR is important. mcabinet is the best IR loader. there is also mbcabinet it is multiband IR possible.
Ownhammer IR i have not test. maybe i should give them a try.
