Well there have been how many year between Plate and Delay? 5? :) (I know there have been a few significant updates in-between, but still... )
But his products show, hence he doesn't have to advertize is as "five years in the making"...

I was thinking more recently Space Modulator, Super Massive, Delay. There's three in the last two years. You're probably right with the gap, but before that I think they were releasing quite a few in a short period of time, all their reverbs, uber mod etc. It's not so much the time with Ohmboyz Infinity, it's more the delay (pun intended) which is getting on for two years, and lack of comms

It's a time based effect, we'll be back in 2018 before we know it (I wish Ohmforce had taken more time, started sooner, so we could travel back even further).

Ah yes, you're right. It was re-advertised this year as they made it a more 'open' freebie. I picked it up this year and assumed it was new. Yeah, crap example then but my points still stand re: ohmforce :)

Yes, absolutely - I completely agree with it

I was interested in this when they announced it, then recently Cubase came out with its multi-tap delay which has insane modulation and fx per tap. I'm interested to see if Infinity will be able to top it.

Exactly this. I mean, a modulatable delay? Perhaps something to get excited about when it was announced many years ago but they've probably missed the boat and pee'd of a significant proportion of their fanbase too, in the intervening years. I don't know whether ohmforce are aware but it's highly competitive out there in plug-in development land and there's quite a few stonking delays already available. As a user base, we're actually spoilt for choice.

That's just crazy.

If the only thing important about a delay was the fact that it could add a delayed signal, then there would be no point for so many different ones.

What they've done with Omboyz and now Infinity is provide an incredibly close to analog sound when driven into self oscillation. Just listen to the sound examples. Now take that sound (which is the primary reason for owning more than one delay) and add in the modulation capabilities.

Look, I'm not happy with their communication on this project either, but so what. That's done, and time to move on.

In terms of sound, they provided a competitive sound and combined it competitive features.

I'm going to hate myself for this i.e potentially getting dragged into some antagonistic flaming, with its associated waste of everyone's time and energy, with someone I don't know; KVR is jam packed with such things, and that aspect put me off for years actually posting something.

But ... the modulation aspect and 'tweakability' is surely the main thrust of Ohm Force's 'this plug-in is really different to other delays' marketing. From the Ohmboyz Infinity main page:

"Macros² that change everything
A world of modulation
Meet Pitch, Freq & Speed shifters
Sound digital or sound analog. Or both.
Designed for live and for studio work
and much more to come!"

No flames! I don't care for that crap either. You've got an opinion... I might think you're crazy for it, but so what. I could be crazy for not agreeing with you and life goes on for us all. No worries.

My point is that if you use this... It really does stand out from others based on what it sounds like. They're not the only ones with a unique, so please don't think I'm trying to make a statement that they're the best, but they've got a signature sound that's not readily available everywhere else which is much like the reason Ohmboyz (not infinity) is still relevant today.

Its the reason Audiodamage's Dubstation is still effective.

Valhalla Delay IMO nailed it for what he was modeling too.

These are character based tools... plus in the case of Infinity, in addition to great sound, you have flexibility in character plus lots of modulation options.

It's still the old skin isn't it

Certainly releasing this thing early access was not the best plan in the end. Hopefully a valuable
lesson was learned and we can all forget about that and give the guy a break if interested in
the plugin at all.
