The song I'm working on now might take a few days. I'm already on day 2 and not even close to finished.

Not a problem. Thread checked out and comment posted. Looking forward to how this progresses.Mushy Mushy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 1:59 pmvurt wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 1:57 pmthe relevance...Mushy Mushy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 1:52 pm I don’t really see the relevance but seeing as Vurt brought it up, I took a leaf from your book and created a single thread for my music albeit under a different username “adrenakrohm”.
not so much relevance, but ive seen wags comment he enjoyed your stuff before.
now he does reviews by request, he might have missed the thread.
just bringing artist and listener together
Just ensuring I’m not inadvertently hijacking the thread
Can I expect a track a day?

Thanks Wags
And no, not all of us are machines One per month is a stretch, one per year more likely

Mushy asked me if I was going to do a Trance CD. Actually, I thought I had but was corrected by the members here that it was not Trance. This was 2 years ago in August.
I just listened to this for the first time since. While it's not traditional classic Trance, it certainly has enough elements. It's also, musically, one of the more interesting things I've done. Between this and my NiN CD "Hammers And Nails" I'd much rather listen to this.
Anyway, for those who hadn't heard it, here it is in its entirety. Whatever you want to call it, I think it's pretty damn good by my standards.

in the lab.
bit slower than i would have expected for mad science
but as youve gone the musical concept album direction, guess you needed a balladesque thing.
although the pirate vocals do take it in to a different direction
failed experiment.
mysterious opening (oi, dont be rude).
bit of pastoral prokoviev type thing. nice
yup, very rocky horror/little shop of horrors now
i need to try again
bit of brian may guitar there?
bit genesis towards the end too.
you are certainly going everywhere on this project.
those gospel vocs are very nice
its in the science.
rock!
like that classical meets squiggly synth break
nice mellow ending, reminds me of a dance track i cant place :grrr:
the light at the end of the tunnel
bit bladerunnery to start there!
nice bass! this bit has gone death in vegas again, something inspired by the nin project?
like it!
possibly my fave of this project so far.
mycreation
the intro sounds like something i might do mixed with some of jans stuff.
the next bit reminds me of something too, but again i cant place it. something going wrong with my memory as i age im only 46!!!
got a bit of a gypsy feel before it goes barry gray! (thunderbirds/captain scarlet)(i love that stuff btw)(although fireball xl5 is my fave theme song to sing/play, its groovy man).
yup, all in all, a definite off broadway type show

Wow, that is a hell of a lot to take in. I actually marvel at how you can listen to this stuff and hear all these different things in it. I just hear me.vurt wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 7:32 pm in the lab.

Thanks very much for the listen and the feedback. It is much appreciated. And don't worry about the Mushy plug. He deserved it. That sounds like it's going to be a great thread to keep an eye on.

8th track from my upcoming CD "Mad Scientist"
This track brings me to the half way point of this CD. Here is where this starts getting tough. I'm stuck between trying to stay true to the theme that I've set and not repeating ideas. With just a couple of tracks left, this wouldn't be such a big problem. But with half a CD left to finish, this becomes a huge problem.
I do not think the songs are going to be coming as quickly from this point on. Forget that this song took me 3 days to do.
Anyway, here's another one with an ending out of left field.
Run Amok
She's out there somewhere
I don't know where to find her
She's out there somewhere
But I can hear her purr
She's causing trouble
Find her on the double
Or else you know she'll run amok
I really screwed up
I should have never made that creature
I really screwed up
Now she's on the midnight feature
She's causing trouble
Find her on the double
Or else you know she'll run amok
Help me find her
I'll pay you handsomely for the service
We've got to stop her
Guess you can tell I'm really nervous
Instrumental Break
I jumped the shark boy
I made a mess of everything now
I jumped the shark boy
And yet I really just don't know how
Nothing can top her
But we've got to stop her
Or else you know she'll run amok

It’s like Italo disco meets 70’s/80’s sci-fi, and then an orchestral ending. Interesting synth sounds.
It made me think of Valerie by Steve Winwood.

Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

9th track from my upcoming CD "Mad Scientist"
This one takes strange to a whole new level. I think this CD is starting to more clearly define its sound. There's still a long way to go but I'm getting a better idea of where I'm heading with this.
New Hoe In Town
She's a hoe, she's a hoe, she's a dirty rotten hoe
She's a hoe, she's a hoe, she's a dirty rotten hoe
She's a hoe, she's a hoe, she's a dirty rotten hoe
She's a hoe, she's a hoe, she's a dirty rotten hoe
She jumps on everything that moves
Trash cans, lawn mowers, weed whackers, boat rowers
And they call her
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
She gives things everything they want
lube oil, nuts and screws, Vaseline, old news
And they call her
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
She's a hoe
I made her what she is
She's a hoe
I'm sure as hell a whiz
Instrumental Break
Repeat Intro
And they call her
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town
The new hoe in town

I leave that up to the listener to decide based on the lyrical content. Like I said, strange to a whole new level.

I finally listened to the radio show where my song was played. Here is the link if anybody wants to give the show a listen.
https://www.mixcloud.com/Resonance/091- ... xIy3lfxWvw
After my song was played and the one panelist (yes, they voted on these) said "This is exactly what this competition needed" I thought to myself, "Thank God, somebody recognizes a great song" as he gave me 9 out of 10.
You would think that I probably finished pretty high up if not outright win this thing, especially with a lot of people getting 6s and 7s.
Nope.
I finished tied for 6th.
Now you gotta wonder what the hell could have possibly happened.
The points went as follows
9, 5, 6 for 20 points.
The guy who gave me 5 points, the organizer of this thing, thought I was in my 80s because of my voice, which the other person thought was actually perfect for the song. The girl gave me 6 points.
With the exception of one song that was an instrumental (don't submit those folks) every other song had no more than 1 point between votes. I had a span of 4 points between highest and lowest.
And this has been the story of my life. People either love me or hate me.
Go on and listen to the broadcast. I absolutely had one of the best songs entered. At least in the top 3. And that's my totally critical evaluation.
Anyway, I'm glad this happened. I got it out of my system and I can be done with these stupid radio programs especially since today's taste in music is pretty much crap.
Rant over.
