i know how to hide automation, my question is, how do i show it again? i have looked for a video and looked at the waveform manual and can't figure it out.

The only way I know of is to re-select them one by one.
A -> Automatable parameters for this track -> <plugin>
Anything with automation will show up green without a check-mark. I think it's the same process you would use to select whichever automation you'd want to be in focus.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

its a shame you can't toggle the automation with a show/hide command.

I think hide is pretty simple but show isn't as clear-cut. If I'm not mistaken, Waveform only shows one automation per track even though there might be more than one. So which one would it show if there was a toggle to show automation?
I do agree, though. To be able to hide without a corresponding show feels wrong.

I really like Waveform, but I think the automation view is quite clunky compared with the rest of it.
It would be nice if you could see an automation window like the midi view with the piano roll, and see all the automation curves at the same time.
It would also be nice to be able to enter precise values for points on the curve - unless I'm doing it wrong, I don't think it's possible to double click and enter a value.

When you create or highlight a node on a line, you can edit its values in the properties panel. You can also slide the end of the coloured bars with the values in.Double Tap wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2020 7:45 amIt would also be nice to be able to enter precise values for points on the curve - unless I'm doing it wrong, I don't think it's possible to double click and enter a value.

How about A -> Active parameter curves for this track?pough wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2020 4:42 am The only way I know of is to re-select them one by one.

Ah! I hadn't seen that - only what happens if you highlight the curve. Thank you very much - I had an itching suspicion I was, in fact, doing it wrong. Not quite as intuitive as a double click but perfectly serviceable.jabe wrote: Sat Aug 08, 2020 11:35 amWhen you create or highlight a node on a line, you can edit its values in the properties panel. I've often thought that the most intuitive solution to automation in Waveform would be to base it on a paradigm we're familiar with: clips. Waveform could have automation tracks which, unlike current automation tracks, behave like regular MIDI/Audio tracks. You could copy/paste/insert new automation tracks, and point them to any automation channel (or multiple channels) on the fly. Those tracks would then have automation clips, which can be stretched, copy/pasted, deleted, moved around, etc. And then you could have a dedicated automation editor like with MIDI.
I find the current automation system decent but behind on the rest of the Waveform. It's a bit finicky to use and not very flexible.

It's very small, more a triangle actually but it's definitely there, at least on v10 it is.
Edit: you have to have created an automation lane for the triangle to show.
