Hey All
Does anyone here have experience with Live 10 and Jbridge? Does it work properly or it is ´shoot in the dark´on which plugs might or might not work? Im considering updating from Live Suite 9, but I have numerous 32 bit plugs that I dont wanna part with.
Thanks

Hi 218,
I have used Jbridge for years with Live 10 and would say it is 95% ok but with certain VST`s it does muck about a bit but for its cost and making 32 bit VST`s non obsolete its a good one.
Cheers,
Glyn.

Hey man, not everything can be as good as Buzz
(ps. have you had any more luck with the TAL plugins with the GUI menus etc. not appearing using PVSTi ?)

I hope it never gets one, waste of dev time imo. I'd much rather have universally useful stuff like multiclip fades, bounce in place etc, and comping, to encourage more people to drop other DAWs and invest in Ableton either via upgrades or switching over, more so than pandering to people still wanting to use ancient plugins, especially when jBridge already exists.polac wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:50 am So Ableton 10 still has no built-in bit bridge? That's disapointing.

I checked it, It's somehow JUCE-related as it seems. But it's simple to fix, you have to disable "embedded vst gui" in the bridge.mcbpete wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 10:59 am (ps. have you had any more luck with the TAL plugins with the GUI menus etc. not appearing using PVSTi ?)

Not that much waste of time imo, other hosts like Reaper or Bitwig or Flstudio did implement it too.PieBerger wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 11:03 amI hope it never gets one, waste of dev time imo. Not at all a waste of time! There is so many great 32 bit plugs thats completely irreplaceable. I honestly think its kinda wierd, that a company like Ableton have decided to wipe out 32 bit support.polac wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 7:36 pmNot that much waste of time imo, other hosts like Reaper or Bitwig or Flstudio did implement it too.PieBerger wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 11:03 amI hope it never gets one, waste of dev time imo. But jBridge is already available and for a fair price, for those that need/want it. We are 10 versions in and still don't have basic audio editing tools that are available in literally every other DAW since forever. I wouldn't be against Ableton licensing a third-party solution as mentioned above, but I'd be upset if dev time for a bit bridge was given priority over multiclip fading, bounce in place etc. you know stuff that is useful for everyone not just people stuck in the past218 wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:29 pmNot at all a waste of time! I'm a little surprised that the ableton people couldn't have just retained the 32 bit vst support. I don't expect it forever but when I see other modern daw hosts (And mini hosts) that Provide for both 32 and 64 bit it makes me wonder why it isn't included in ableton and studio one?

You're right about the decision making, because that's what the corporation Ableton did.tooneba wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:59 amIncompetence aka corporate decision making.infrared72 wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 1:30 am I'm a little surprised that the ableton people couldn't have just retained the 32 bit vst support. Ableton stopt supporting 32 bit plugins three years ago. Still complaining about this is a waste of time. Time that could've been better spent in updating plugins to 64 bit and/or 'learning' jBridge/32Lives.
