I have recently purchased the MSuperLooper - my first purchase from MeldaProductions.
Excellent app, and didnt take long to get up and running!
I have come accross one issue however that i hope you could advise me on, or if not yet known, you be advised of...
ISSUE
When i record a number of tracks of loops, if i let the daw continue to run and run - i.e just let the daw play and say 4 4 bar loops play over and over again, occasionally the superlooper will get its loops tangled up. They will catch, stutter and then quickly sort themselves out. Whilst this is not really much of an issue in the studio, it totally is for live, and as it stands prohibits me from using this wonderful plugin in a live set up.
I am hoping you can advise me what the issue is, and how to resolve, or whether the company is working to sort this etc?
To give a bit more detail...
My system
windows 10 - fully up to date
8 core intel I7 processor
64GB of ram
NIvidia 1080 graphics card
1 TB High speed SSD drive with additional 6TB on other SATA drives.
DAW - Studio One.
focusrite 6i6 sound card
Actual track is a test / demo track. i.e. it has one very basic drum track and a guitar track on which the a virtual amp feeds into superlooper. thats it.
in the looper the loop length is set to 4 bars. (as is the loop area of the daw).
all loops are the same length
The issue happens even with 3 - 4 tracks.
I am using no affects with the superlooper.. just basic looping
most of the time all is good, then after several mins the issue will / may appear.
note - this does not sound like or appear to be an issue with my audio card or buffers - when the issue happens the audio in the actual daw is not affected.. the daw plays as normal. The superlooper tangles, then quickly sorts itself out and all is good again. regardless, I have tried different buffer sizes to no good effect.
Note also that when the superlooper tangles, the audio does not degrade as such, the loops get caught up, hang, go out of sync with the daw, then quickly fix. sounds like some memory or buffer internal to the superlooper runs out of space or something (i am no expert Lol), as a quick clear out, then all is good again.
note also no other software is running in the background that would add any strain to the performance of my system.
I would be most grateful for any advice.
happy to assist if useful to remedy the issue that it may be used live with absolute confidence.
regards
Michael
PS not sure if this is in the plugin yet and i havent seen it .. but if not..
please consider enabling the shrinking of the vertical height of the tracks so as to be able to see more on screen at once.
also perhaps even a function such that what ever track is currently selected is always centre on screen - to enable better visual feedback during performance etc.
for me, if the audio glitch issue was sorted and the above were implimented, the plugin would be almost untouchable. unlimited tracks and it would be lol
but seriously - great plugin !
