Stuck notes horror show - stopping playback doesn't signal note-off

I remember behaviour like this from Tracktion 1 and I thought an option was included to signal note-off globally to all plugins. I've just started using East West Quantum Leap Play (with Symphonic Orchestra) and it's unusable due to the fact that stopping playback doesn't stop any currently playing notes. Waveform generally has odd behaviour with all VST instruments when moving the playhead around: doing so generally creates stuck notes until one stops and starts playback, but with EWQL Play stopping and starting playback doesn't turn off any notes... there's no way to switch them off except to play back through a sequence which has the specific note-off event, and then to stop playback only during silence (!). I don't know if there is anything different about the architecture of EWQL Play, or whether this is simply to do with using midi channels other than 1... which I don't normally do. I guess it's rare that there's any need to assign midi channels other than 1, perhaps very few people do it, and so there are bugs in the handling of other channels. I'll have to troubleshoot this tomorrow...I suppose it could be something to do with midi data in the clips that shouldn't be there... sustain pedal perhaps (which shouldn't be there, I've not inputted it). I've looked through the settings and can't see any options to change playback note-off behaviour... the only thing in the ballpark is to switch off audio playback when not playing, but that just means the stuck notes persist once playback is restarted.

Edit: this in on a Mac running Mojave.

I'm having the same problem - not every time, but frequently having notes stuck on until I play them again.

I did search the forum before creating this thread and saw a few mentions of this, but not many. I'm confused by what's going on, it doesn't seem as bad today, but it's still a problem. Not related to midi channel... it might be related to which articulation (patch) I'm using in EWQLSO. The handling of note off commands seems odd to me anyway; I don't see why Waveform wouldn't switch notes off when just moving the play position during playback... in what circumstances would one want to jump position and keep prior notes sustaining? Though just to reiterate, that's not the problem I'm experiencing and which I created the thread about.

There is an exclamation mark icon in the transport area, which can reset the engine and stop all notes. But it frequently leads to a complete crash, so I don't use it anymore.

For some reason it's not happening so much now. I'm confused... it's been within the threshold of not really interfering with my use of the program. But there's definitely some strange inconsistencies in the way that Waveform handles these things.

What version of Waveform are you using? I remember having this issue in the past, but I haven't had it for a long time.
Linux version?

The latest version, 11.1.0.

Anecdotally, this also seems to be happening more to me with 11.1.0, as well.

There are other peculiarities, when I stop playback with the option 'run audio engine when stopped' selected, roughly one in four times the audio engine won't continue to run, and to get it to run I have to start and stop playback again. There are a lot of quirks, none of which have really stopped me from getting stuff done, they just mean I've developed a bunch of twitches to compensate. Hopefully the new audio engine will fix all of this stuff. Overall, having been back using Waveform for around a month now after a decade away, I'm really impressed with the depth of the extra features and I still love the overall design. Just need it to work reliably.
