BR: I'm really sick and tired of fundamental editing bugs like this...

Every project takes me way longer than it should because of stuff like this. There are loads of issues that crop up all the time and these are fundamental things. Is there no test script for regression testing? These things have been getting worse over time.

Messed up looping:


Playback just stops for no reason and Waveform needs to be restarted. In this instance, I just changed the sound in Synth1VST and playback stopped working:


Another awful frustrating looping bug. Move the start point of the clip, loop it, unloop it, start position is reset back to 0. This one is possibly the worst because you can't undo it:



I haven't done a video, but Warp Time doesn't disable when you disable it. It can also cause nasty clicks and sometimes silence around the warp points. You can also warp the audio, switch it off, then switch it to Melodyne and Melodyne shows the analysis from original audio, but what you hear is the Warped audio. Sometimes it can get into a state where it's not possible to reset the clip to the original audio with reloading or deleting the clip and re-importing the audio. It's all over the place. There are countless other little blockers that are really frustrating that I have to keep finding work-arounds for. For example, why on earth is the bottom panel not scalable anymore? It's ridiculous trying to use Warp Time on the tiny, tiny display area.

I'm really going to have to try alternative DAWs again. Producing music shouldn't be so anger-inducing. Tracktion/Waveform has always done so many things so well, but for years now some of the absolute basics for good usablility have lain unfixed or have just got worse. I had a similar crisis of confidence in Waveform a few years ago and posted a huge amount of issues, but when I tried all other available DAWs, Waveform was still worth sticking with. It's not that easy to just put 20 years of muscle memory in the bin. But most of those same issues are still here today and these days, the competition has got a hell of a lot better.
