Because ?
Because of changes in operating systems, C++ Redistributables etc during those 15 years. Do you think it would work on the latest version of Mac OS ? Windows 10 ?

That and it would almost certainly be 32 bit so worthless to me.

I'm not saying you couldn't take that code and update it but again....what code ?

Are you sure there is any code ?

That is true yes. It might not work on modern OS but i would think it is possible to update the code. If i remember correctly BetaBugs use Synthedit which support both 64bit win/Mac AU. But i have no idea if they used any code but i would like to think there is atleast some code in there. Synthedit supports C++ afaik. Btw is Betabugs still around?

I think BetaBugs started with S.E. but then moved on to hand coded plugins. It was or is a group of developers rather than a single dev. The OP Mully was last active here in February.

The site is still up but I'm not sure if development has continued or not. Haven't heard anything from them in years.

That link is dead.

I bought my current PC back in 2009 not knowing it was 32 or 64bit. I only cared about using it for making music knewing it supported 32bit daws and plugins. Back then i used fl studio but switched to energyXT in 2016 or so. It quickly became my main daw but noticed early on that it didnt support 64bit plugins since ext is 32bit :hihi: but didnt care really. Everything just worked, ofc random crashes here and there but that is a given. I started out with 32bit back in early 2000 and will continue using 32bit till the end is nigh. .i've also never cared for 64bit anyway. :D

ok, gotcha...
EXT2.7F is the anchor keeping me on XP x32.
and using x32 plugins. i sometimes think about
trying to switch to a newer DAW, but i just cant.
i love and know that little 1mb block of code
inside out. i will remain faithful to her

Pretty much. Here's Mully (the Betabugs orchestra leader/graphics wizard) claiming it's almost finished. 2 years later, duncanparsons (another one of the bugs) said “hassle the coder”, but Q-Dog hasn't been around here for ages.

(and fwiw, I owned a fizmo once upon a time)

It was "almost ready" over 14 1/2 years ago. So there was some code. Are you sure it still exists ?

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see a Fizmo emulation but you'd think if this project were going to be finished it would have happened almost a decade and a half ago.

Thinking someone is going to pick it up and finish it now is a bit of a pipe dream in my opinion. But I'd love to be proven wrong.....

Well, yeah, I don't think it'll happen, but giving it a gentle nudge is the least one can do…
