Is there a way to send MIDI out of Patchwork to a MIDI device, instead of just "Host" or the internal MIDI A,B,C, etc. connections?
This would be trying to work around a problem in a host that doesn't give access to the MIDI out of plugins that actually generate MIDI (things like melody generators). I'd send the MIDI to a virtual MIDI device (like LoopBE), then pipe it back into my host to control the other VI that I want.

No, PatchWork as a plug-in only sends to the host, to make sure everything is properly in sync, and MIDI can be recorded in the host app. It does not provide a way to hijack the host's implementation at this point.
