Thanks MrKarolus for the suggestion. I'll look into it. See if it works with the piece I"m working on for this month.MrKarolus wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 7:31 am @Aro If I remember correctly there is one Surge preset for vinyl crackles-noise, which you can hear often in lo-fi music, so that might come handy![]()

I've got a question for the developers. I'm not super computer savvy, so. But I was wanting to use Surge in my notation program, which currently only accepts VST2. Now, I read on the Surge website that there is an older VST2 version of Surge. But if I downloaded that, would I still be able to use the most current version of Surge as well? Thanks.

I think someone compiled a VST2 version of the newest build?Aro wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2020 8:57 pm I've got a question for the developers. I'm not super computer savvy, so. If so maybe they could point you in the right direction of where to dl’d?

I think I remember reading that there were some freaky resonance going on earlier in the thread.
It still seems to be there, not as bad a b4, just thought I’d let you know

Thanks @Eauson ... I have still to work out just where it is ... the earlier things were actually from the flute sound, and I've used TDR dynamic EQ to control it ... I suspect it's when my little drifting "choir" comes in and one of the voices hits a particular note (ie freq!). I'll probably use Nova there and see if I can stomp on it ...
Like I said, some tweaking still to do ... other ears does help ... Z.prime asked me to boost up the bass (and sub) and cut around 5k a little (did that, but yup ... I need to nail that resonance).
Tell me where you think it's worse please ....

@tj
thanks ...
I think I will drop TDR Nova on the master and watch SPAN and see where the nasties build up (if any/if too much) and see if I can nail it with the dynamic EQ on that freq range ... probably an interaction of all my sound sources, rather than any particular one ... in this case ...
Still might leave it as is for fans of the freaky resonance!

The Orange One: https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/the-orange-one
16 x Surge. After the hardstyle kick took so long to carefully craft ... I have to admit I used 2 - 3 presets. MConvolutionEZ and Valhalla SuperMassive Reverbs. Numerous Bitwig FX: Dynamic, Multiband, Mid/Sid, EQ, Delay, PeakLimiter, Tool. Other FX: MSaturator and QuickHaas...
I'm sorry that this one is even hardstylisher than the previous one. I feel kind of in a semi aggressive mood ... but at least it's only 2:45 long
Workout tipp: Listen in Loop - Warm up / Stretch your muscles in the slower part. Just jump around in the rave parts. Do 5 rounds...
If you like go on with Headhunterz ...

You can add a bit of reverb and reverse the polarity to help mellow them out, I’m not having a go by the way, freaky resonance is sometimes a great thing

Hm, I listend to your track. Either I suffer from listening fatigue or the "resonances" are not so intense ... May be you could check the midi in your track may be you have some instruments playing in the same range. And may be doing some tiny bits of velocity/volume teaking might be sufficient.doctorbob wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2020 1:38 pm @tjthanks ...
