Urs: Just reading the FAQ on the website makes it seem as if the price on the website is pretty much non-negotiable and that whatever the price listed is the only price you can buy the plugin for. ................
I agree with you with the first part because that is what it says, but the second part is all you.

and that whatever the price listed is the only price you can buy the plugin for from their website......

I wonder how people would not do a simple google search like "buying u-he plugins". Then several resellers pop up. It's simplest information gathering that can be expected these days, especially from tech savvy people imo.

Feel free to point out where I showed a lack of understanding of free market economics.
You can buy u-he plugins from many sources, including resellers and end users. You could have found that out before you purchased if you did a simple Google search.

u-he has no control over what others choose to sell their plugins for. On their website, they state that they rarely discount their plugins and that is absolutely true.

It is a free market. People can sell something for whatever they want. Some manufacturers put restrictions on what resellers can advertise for (MAP pricing) but cannot dictate what they sell something for.

Can't see where he was a c******** a******* and btw better watch your language could easily happen that you come over as a c***** a****** more then anybody else in this thread.

I can totally understand the disappointment of the OP and imo this it's a dangerous thing for u-he when every reseller is way cheaper then the own shop. u-he should negotiate some kind of safety arrangements that those drastic underuts couldn't happen.

If someone wants to have the cheapest price, he/she should look for it in other reseller shops all around the globe and at the programmers website and then decide where to buy. It's always possible there's a cheaper reseller.

It's the same with other shops or supermarkets. It's not always cheaper to buy from the producer directly because supermarkets are getting quantity discount and other discounts from the producer and can sell it cheaper.

Our preference is to keep our prices reasonable and would rather not show preferential treatment to one group of customers over another".

Yet when your resellers undercut you isn't that defeating the purpose ?

Just sayin'...
he bought it from uhe, not a reseller
Sorry, misunderstood that. :dog:

The problem has nothing to do with my understanding of the free market and everything to do with the way I allowed the text on the website to persuade me. My fault ultimately, but it has nothing to do with what you are claiming.

yea, some people may better ask their mom before spending their big amounts of money. Even if it's just to learn how to make an informed decision.

If U-He still earns more than without resellers (and that's what he wrote), it isn't!

Otherwise all producers had to make only factory shops and supermarkets with cheaper offers would be closed.

Make an advice on your site that you aren't responsible when your customer lose money buying from you directly.

They are good plugins, that's my intake. I would not react if they sold crap. It's just stupid.
