Part of my inspiration for my track is a wonderful piano and flute piece by Ian Clarke called Hypnosis. To listen to a good performance go here:

... and for more inspiration, just google up "Maya" by Ian Clarke - another wonderful piece of music, composition. Particularly the one featuring Magdalena Maliszewska.

I hope you enjoy this and feel my inspiration.

That is nice. That landing on the Eb around 2:50 is pretty sweet...

@Doctorbob: Thanks a lot for this Ian Clarke masterpiece.
@ MaZe 6000: Wow, great atmosphere in your first track. Also great 2nd track. Bonzai style.

This month i have -no submission-.
I started my attempt with a Cubase stock drumset and simply forgot to recreate this part in Surge :dog: I dont have my DAW for the next 7 days, so... this is the end.

If you want to hear what i was working on see below, but i propose to listen to Ian Clarke instead :)

@Neptune, That's a pretty nice track, The rythym in the lead is pretty engaging and out of the ordinary, that rise and fall is intensely good too!

Couldn't find it on Soundcloud to comment?

I have funny problem. :help: Can't open any soundcloud page in Firefox, it just loads blank white page :dog: I can still listen on forum posts or other web browsers though.

A midi of the piano part for hypnosis is attached here - played by my daughter ... glad some of you have liked his composing. He does lots of bending of notes in many of his pieces.

Enjoy - and even find the score and play yourselves???

They've had some annoying full-page popup ads lately - might have something to do with that? Esp. if the browser isn't up to date, or an ad-blocker is enabled... I guess you could also try to clear the cache, if you haven't already?

Sorry for asking you but is Poise an effect or is it the drum sampler? :?:

Beautiful number! :)

Here's another question for those who have used Surge for physical modeling: what causes the tone disorder (above C5 is already noticeable) and how can you deal with it?

Poise is a drum sampler with some effects like pitchbend/distortion that I didn’t use.

About samples the rules say:
Samples:

No use of samples, sample libraries or live sounds (like voice, guitar etc allowed).
However, for convenience or CPU saving, synth bouncing are allowed but only where the EXACT same result could have been achieved using the original synth: - This means that for example pitching and reversing is not allowed; sampling a bass drum in order to get a consistent sound is not allowed either.
Samplers used must be host samplers or freeware and easily available.

More Clarification: Audio must not be touched at all once it leaves the DAW (i.e. after bouncing a track or a stem). For example: One cannot master the audio in another software or service. Also, If you need more performance / CPU a workaround is to freeze all the tracks.
As you can see, for example, you cannot create a kick (or snare, HHs) with Surge, make a bounce of several hits and cut one that sounds consistent and then open it in a sampler. You can only bounce the entire track to save CPU.

Oh my gosh Doctor Bob! I downloaded the midi played by your daughter, and it sounded so awesome with the different synth settings on Surge. Super fun and inspiring!
