Cmon NI pay some attention to legibility and ease of use.
What are you waiting for?

Go teach them already! :)
I don’t think they could afford me :)
Still having read to here it is pleasing to hear that the graphics are apparently now resizable.

Regular resolution screen sounds better; it's almost like analogue.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

bM3w wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 11:47 pm Seriously, no VST3, no resizable GUIs? This old blah blah "it's a huge task" gets a little long in the tooth.
Especially since they're competitors with equally old products have mostly done these kinds of updates - Korg (resizable GUIs), Waldorf (VST3), Arturia (GUIs and VST3), smaller devs like Sylenth1 (resizable GUI) and u-he (GUIs and VST3). The list goes on.
Those fine companies don't kompete with Kontakt, and only indirectly kompete with Reaktor. So NI can take their time to get an enormous of bringing their flagships into the scalable future

Those kompanies do kompete with NI's older synths, which may be moot if they are not to be upgraded by NI. That leaves MassiveX to kompete with, and it's newer code with resizable gui.
My next NI purchase will be the Balinese Gamelan, as I'm still scratching the surface of K12, and Fathom 3 is out.
Cheers
I couldn't care less about who's competing with whom. BUT - as a matter of fact: roughly 90% of plugins I purchased over the past two or three years have VST3 versions and/or resizable GUIs. And I (unfortunately) buy a lot. So, Echoes in the Attic has a point here. And the asking price of $499 (in my case) is not justified at all when all I get is just more sounds (yawn) and GR6, which I don't care for too much.

I like BlueCat best for ampsim features and innovation,
and Amplitube best for guitar fun. I like Guitar Rigs gui best for ease of use as a general effects rack. But often, I run a Fender modeling amp through the elderly Z3TA effects plugin, the plethora of synth presets is great fun to cycle through with a guitar. I've never considered gui resizing as a factor when making music software purchase, and won't this side of opening my own studio. Too many cheap monitors can cover whatever gui sizes I have to deal with. I'll try a GR6 player version if it happens.
Cheers

Yawn..... I have Komplete 12 , don't see much of an upgrade for $199 ... Maybe a SALE on black friday or sometime in 2021 , that being said StudioOne4 is fine for the moment too . Sometimes upgrades just dont seem that enticing .

I've yet to go through much of K12, the parts I like, I use a lot, with much to learn when not playing, which is not often. :hyper:

People with only 4k monitors don't understand the warmer mixes you get on regular resolution screens. :uhuhuh:

With the hints given about new dev tools, an ala-cart shop
would be a healthy temptation, as new models and effects
are presented. The "Special thanks to Fender" note is also
encouraging!
Exactly. I think Guitar Rig 6 seems to be the last version, just like Kontakt (6). We will probably get more ala-carte effects and amps for it going forward, similar to IK AmpliTube.

I'm still on Komplete Ultimate 8, so updating to 13 seems like a great deal. I'll wait for the summer sale though. Waited this long already.

K13 seems like a good deal in general. And if you are in to Guitar Rig 6 concept, like Massive X and Super 8, even for K12 Ultimate users not a bad deal.

I have K12 CE version and one thing thats actually something i want is Guitar Rig 6 due to UI (traktor fx, psyche delay and many more are awesome) update. But i have already accepted the fact that Guitar Rig 5 is incredibly tiny and already using other devices that are alternative to them. So im good with skipping this one :)

You could update to only Guitar Rig 6 Pro for $99 when it is out. Just in case you did not know. :)

I know but in my case 99eu GUI update for me isn't a value because I already not using guitar rig 5 and have many alternatives to that package. :-)

This must be the motivation behind the dawless fad. No monitor at all = even better sound.

Komplete 13 Ultimate has nothing to offer for owners of Komplete 12 ultimate. I can't even see "what's new for me" on the k13u page.

EvilDragon wrote: Tue Sep 01, 2020 4:20 pm It's not in-house graphics engine, it's Qt. Very much out of house. :D But gotta have at least a halfways decent GPU with good OpenGL support.
But this is something i dont understand about some of the developers.

Lets be real, even with decent gpu (i have AMD RX580) the GUI of latest NI plugins is somewhat stuttery, slow. And you have developers like Parawave, Fabfilter, Synapse Audio. Their'GUIS are fast, lightweight. Shouldnt other developers want to improve themself and look at something like a fabfilter as a performance benchmark ? As individual, as a company you should want to be best or at least to meet the comortability level for your product, so that the user wouldnt need to search for products in your competitors lineup. And this is something i dont understand about some of the developers. NI was like "Should we make a stuttery laggy but pretty GUI so our users could be less comfortable?" CEOs: lets do that, we dont need more money, lets criple our products, yay
