Hi guys - I just wanted to let you know that I've just released a new ambient soundset for Diva, inspired by the early 80s/90s ambient productions by Aphex Twin. It's called Aperture and I'm actually quite proud over it :)

Aperture contains 178 new sounds all in all:

Aperture Main Sounds (110 sounds)
3 Arpeggios
7 Bass sounds
12 Drum and percussion sounds
12 Hits and effects
31 Synth and lead sounds
30 Pads and synth strings
15 Textures and soundscapes

Aperture Fundamentals (50 sounds)
5 Arpeggios
6 Drum and percussion sounds
4 Hits and effects
17 Synth and lead sounds
11 Pads and synth strings
7 Textures and soundscapes

Audio files (18 sounds)
18 Unprocessed drum sounds

All audio files are 24 bit/44 kHz mono.

All sounds are properly tagged making finding sounds easy (both in Diva as well as in Native Instruments NKS format).

Thanks for all the positive reactions.

For you sound designers out there:
When making these sounds, I used a different approach than what I usually do. I think I will make a short video on my Youtube channel about it, but basically I started off by listening to one of the old Aphex Twin tracks, picking out a handful of sounds I found interesting.

For each and every sound, I wrote down on a piece of paper three things that defined the sound. Such as “slow pad”, “bell-like” and “long slow delay”.

Then I muted the original song and started rebuilding the sound in Diva from zero, using nothing but what I wrote down on the paper. It was a bit like working as a bad photocopier, but the results became something that was unique but captured the spirit of the sound.
