Probability should be pretty doable with the modular components, and generative stuff is pretty easy
with MuLab, you can do an entire generative project if you want.
Also on the topic of VST3, I don't expect we have to worry about that too much. It's pretty much
the only course of action that's open. No doubt it's in the works.

I do hope so, I'm having to use metsplugin to host some of my newer vst3 plugins as they only come as vst3 and its a bit clunky at times. I did try BC Patchwork, but some plugins presets don't show in it.pekbro wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:33 am Also on the topic of VST3, I don't expect we have to worry about that too much. I don't know maybe a system that produces generative music (even in real time) for impromptu sessions ... then maybe make the mixer or mixer channels slightly more professional ... A good graphic EQ ...

It's a thought, but Joe's time may be better spent on other things when a good graphic EQ like Hornets ThirthyOne can be bought for a couple of Euro's (when they have a sale, which is often). But for an all in one packaged DAW its a valid suggestion.

I agree. DAWs and plugins should complement each other. Each do what the other cannot. It maximises the benefits for everyone!heks wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 10:40 amJo's time may be better spent on other things when a good graphic EQ like Hornet ThirtyOne can be bought for a couple of euros

Ok, I was wondering (I don't know if it already exists) if you can create an ADSR plugin that can transform (even in real time) a dry sound (and therefore tending to percussion, that is, without sustain and release) into an elongated sound and emphasized with sustain and release ... maybe even with the possibility of changing intonation ... the idea came from this experiment I did
This sound was obtained with a simple kitchen string, resting on a simple piezoelectric passed as a trigger. Everything went into a mixer and then into an audio channel of a DAW. However, the sound can only effected it but not changed in real time. Here is a plugin that can modify a sound in real time, maybe it can be useful for live performances ... Hence the idea of creating a DAW that is able to produce music in a different way from all the other DAWs on the market could lead to a interesting diversification ... I would like a DAW that, through specific random settings, would already start generating phrases for electronic, experimental and / or environmental genres ... without having to install additional plugins ... have a DAW complete is very good for me because having to install, inside the pc, other plugins has always bothered me... After it goes well, ok, this is my personal taste...

That's not yet defined, but as things are going atm now it will be the same as for MuLab 8.hivkorn wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:09 am what will be the minimum OSX version requirement to run mulabs 9 ?

I haven't much news atm. A bit of blogging: Some time ago i encountered a very difficult technical point and M9 r&d didn't go well last month. Maybe also with all that covid distraction, i don't know. Looking for solutions and getting the progress flowing again.
As you know the main feature will be the live parts, basically a matrix of parts where you can combine parts, record that etc. There is another main thing about M9 but i prefer not to communicate about it yet until i am sure it will succeed.Features?
Not yet.Release date?

There indeed is a special upgrade path from MuLab 1 to MuLab 8, see http://www.mutools.com/shop.html
