Hi, I'm new in Tracktion and I've just try it. I like it a lot and I'm considering buying it but before I do that I have to be sure it has a very important editing function. I think everybody knows the line editing tool from traditional sequencers. It allows you to create increasing or decreasing velocities, midi controllers values etc. I search this function in Traction and I can find it. Editing with the pencil is very slow and annoing. If anyone knows about such a function in Tracktion please post a response. Any help is wellcome. Thanks.

Sorry for my english. I meant I CAN'T find this function.

If You clic and drop in "note velocity" mode every single note velocity change position. But yes, the line editing doesn't exist in Tracktion... and it's an important tool!

This is fundamental for the computer musician.

Some midi CC data can be controlled with what tracktion calls 'Automation Curves'.

Look up 'Automation Curves' in the manual, and it will point you to how to employ what you are trying to do (not necessarily for midi note velocities).

I use it primarily for volume and pan, but also I've used it to control midi controllable parameters of plugin effects.

to control midi cc data with automation curves you need a vst plug made by moduLR called CC_rider

at least that what I've heard (I haven't used it).

Tingle,

Not true.

Get the bionic delay plugin from
http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/892.html

And insert it into a track in Tracktion.

Click the 'A' button, and bingo, there are all the midi controllable features of the Bionic Delay plugin right there, listed underneath the track's volume and pan curves.

I used it in a little exercise to prove this to myself. click the song 'Chilll(2).wav' from this link to hear how I modified the feedback control on this cool little tape delay plugin.

I believe that it all depends on the depth of programming for the plugin, and ModulR's plug probably takes over for plugins that haven't provided the hooks if they don't immediately show up.

you can automate vst parameters with automation but when you record a hard synth controller changes they get displayed in Tracktion in a rather unfriendly fashion so ModuLR invented CC_rider to convert cc data to automation curves.

(though I've not tried it)

N.B. i like the tune.

Oh - I see what you mean now. That would be cool. I'll have to visit Mr. ModulR's site once again.

Sorry to be ignorant again, what does N.B. stand for?

Latin: 'nota bene' - note well/ carefully

kind of like P.S. but more like a side note than an after thought.

N.B.,

I've got to remember that one.

Here is the US, we haven't been required to take latin for decades.

Anyways, that little soundscape was not meant to really be a song, but I do kind of like how it turned out.

It was completely a freebie.
