it was time for more wagbell...
i listened to "cant get it out of my head"
i love ELO, you are no Jeff lynn, nor any one is
for that matter, And you did this cover fairly good
justice. but in an unmistakable wagvoice. which
IMHO has its own soothing, gritty, tone.
well done replicating the originals atmosphere.
all in all a good listen. :tu:
HW SYNTHS [KORG T2EX - AKAI AX80 - YAMAHA SY77 - ENSONIQ VFX]
HW MODULES [OBi M1000 - ROLAND MKS-50 - ROLAND JV880 - KURZ 1000PX]

ELO has always been a favorite of mine. No, I am no Jeff Lynne or Bev or Richard or any of them. But I'm a huge fan and gave this one everything I had. I'm glad I did the original at least a modicum of justice.

Thanks for the listen Layzer.

14th track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

Hardest so far.

Best so far.

If you're familiar with the original, I duplicated it the best I could given what I had to work with. I'm no Sonny Grecco and Vocaloid only sounds so good for the backup. Plus. the arrangement was a nightmare to try to figure out. All in all, I think I did a respectable job.

Not a problem. Only have a couple more to do anyway.

i imagine youve learned a few tricks along the way, which is one reason to go for authentic rather than putting your own twist on things (although, like jan, id go for making them more vurt too).

might be a good idea in future, not a whole albums worth, but once every couple of months, run your horse race :)

Well, it's gonna be a long time before I do anymore covers. This project has been nothing less than exhausting. I have never worked so hard at anything in my life. Don't let how quickly I'm doing these fool you. I've been working on each song from early in the morning until late at night short of taking food and bathroom breaks. Sometimes as much as 16 hours in a day. Also, don't forget. All the songs are already finished. I just have to recreate them. No writing or even arranging involved. And with that, I'm working 16 hour days. Precious And Few took me close to 30 hours to finish.

So yeah, I definitely need a break from this stuff, not that it hasn't been a crap ton of fun and, IMO, the best stuff I've ever put together by a mile and a half. There hasn't been a dog in the bunch.

Anyway, my next song is going to be a classic from 1965. I finally drew a 60s year in the horse race. Didn't think that was going to happen. Hope I do this one justice.

bathroom breaks!?

slacker!!!

nope, for sure i can tell youve worked on them (the ones ive heard so far) the details make that obvious :)
glad its been fun too, thats as ive told you all alomg, important! for you, everyone deserves fun and for your music and listeners, as having fun is going to produce a better product.

and for sure, some of your better works, youve learned a lot production wise in recent years, so have been able to listen and emulate the majority of these without any outside assists, as far as i know, you asked one question regarding the talking heads track.
contrast that to when you did the queen tribute, you needed a lot more help to get it right.
thats an awesome improvement, which i hope you are proud of :)

Harder song to do than I thought. Paul makes it sound so easy when he sings.

16th and final track from my upcoming CD "Killer Kovers"

I've saved the best for last. This is the closest to the record of all the songs on this CD. I've wanted to do this song for as long as I can remember. My voice isn't as flexible as it was when I was younger, but I still do a respectable Davy Jones.

Later on, some words about my upcoming project but not now.

Enjoy!

My next project is titled "Celestial Navigation"

It's about the planets, astronomy, astrology and space stuff. Musically, it's going to be kind of atmospheric and experimental. It will be similar to my CDs "Botany Bay" and "The Reflecting Pool"

For anybody who missed any of the songs in covers project or wants to hear the whole thing in one sitting, here is the entire playlist.
