If that unexpected user folder change would ever happen again then please look at your desktop for a log file MT-UserFolderLogDump-yyyymmdd-hhmmss.txt. It's a special log file that should contain the reason why the standard user folder could not be used. Please email me that specific log file then. Thx.

Thanks, will do

Thanks a lot for looking at poly pressure editing !
The idea about the worflow looks ok for my needs (altough Evil Dragon's suggestions would be awesome!)
I had some trouble make it working.
It seems polypressure is not different for each note but a unique parameter for each one right now : editing/recording several notes poly pressure display the same editing when switching Polypress note lane.
I tried with ZebraHZ and it seems to still record correctly disctinct polypress moves, but it displays the same, and after editing one with the piano roll lane, they become the same.

Another question : How can we hook polypressure to a parameter ? Within the basic synth I only see aftertouch. But maybe it's MUX not being able to handle poly pressure ?

Cheers.

I see, a bug indeed, will be fixed in the next M8.6.19 which will be available soon.

Please elaborate on what you want to do.

Well for example when I right click MuSynth Amp Vol, then select Map midi controller, there is no poly pressure within the sources I can choose. Is there another way I could modulate it with poly pressure ?

I know it's not perfect, but i've chosen the current way because before M8.6.18 there was no way at all to edit poly pressure graphically, as you rightly noticed, and this new way was quite easy to add into the existing M8 architecture. Maybe i'll have a look at other ways lateron but it will take R&D time and the main R&D focus currently is on M9.

I can add that in the next M8.6.20 update there will be a couple of extra shortcuts for more quickly & easily switching the Poly Pressure edit lane to a specific key. (instead of having to choose it via the menu every time)

Post

Could there maybe be an "auto-select" button above the edit lane selection menu, only showing when PAT is chosen, that would then switch the lane based on the note you click in piano roll? That seems like a good stopgap measure to me.

Post

Thx for emphasizing an "auto mode". Added it to the next M8.6.20.
Not via a button, but via a right-click on the lane selector.
More info soon.

MuLab 8.6.20 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/beta/

This update brings enhanced support for editing velocities and poly-pressure:

There are 3 new shortcut functions:
  • Edit All Velocities = Switches the graph lane to show all velocities.
  • Edit Focused Key Velocities = Switches the graph lane to show the velocities of the currently selected key. (eg. handy for drum sequences)
  • Edit Focused Key Poly Pressure = Switches the graph lane to show poly pressure of the currently selected key.
On top of these there also is an "Auto Follow Key" mode that auto switches the graph lane to show the relevant velocities / poly pressure.
You can toggle this "Auto Follow Key" mode via a right-click on the graph lane header.
Toggling that auto mode can also be done using a shortcut key to "Toggle Auto Follow Focused Key".

Note that even when the auto mode is off, you can still use those 3 manual functions to switch the graph lane when you need it for certain note keys.

How to update MuLab:
Windows: Replace the current MuLab.exe and MuLab.ID by the new versions.
MacOS: Replace the current MuLab.app by the new version.

Auto follow key option is really handy! Thank you! You might save me from buying a Bitwig Licence! :)

Any hint how to use poly pressure to modulate things within mulab stock instruments ?
