Hi!
Is there a way to edit poly pressure data within midi piano roll ? I found how to do it in event list but it's not easy to edit in there....

Mmm... doesn't look like it. Aftertouch and Pitchbend channel messages, controller messages but not Poly Pressure. It's two dimensional (key number, value), of course, unlike the other controllers (just value). You'd need to edit it against the piano in place of note values - and then you've the problem there's no duration to a Poly Pressure message. So I can't think how it could be easy, exactly. Might be nice if you could right-click in the piano area and pick Poly Pressure Event, to get asked the exact values based on approximately where you clicked but you've still the issue of display and subsequent editing...

Haa, too bad... That could have been a great help to edit my performance recorded with my launchpad (I use it instead of a keyboard).

Mmmmm... This just came to me... So you'd want note velocity and poly pressure showing at the lower lane together... Mmmm... You could have "Velocity" with "Poly pressure" as an alternative and "All keys"/"{specific key}" would work the same for filtering. If it could ghost the notes velocity or poly pressure, that would be nice, too (in both key and lower displays). (That's based on the velocity itself not having a duration -- the poly event in the key display could be similar -- it's highly likely to have a note at the same time, though, hence ghosting.)

Well, Velocity is not a must to have when editing poly pressure so I'd be satisfied with some option to switch the note's velocity lane to it's pressure! Although both lines would be awesome...

It's quite slow to edit because you have to manually choose which note to edit. It would be much nicer (and MUCH faster to use) if the notes themselves would contain the curve editing, when zoomed in, like so:

Either that, or once you select Poly Pressure lane type, it should only show poly AT events relevant to just notes that are selected. You select a different note, you get a different poly AT lane to edit. But the above mockup is how would be best.

Could extend editing beyond the note rectangle. In fact, if you look at it, every row in piano roll could technically be a poly AT edit lane (obviously, zoomed in enough)...

In practice, you cannot generate poly AT events on a keyboard after you release a key.
But of course, MIDI doesn't disallow having poly AT events after a note off, so yeah, that case should also be covered, for sure.

I've chosen the current way because before M8.6.18 there was no way at all to edit poly pressure graphically and this new way was relatively easy to add into the existing M8 architecture. Maybe i'll have a look at other ways lateron but that will take more R&D time and the main R&D focus currently is on M9.

My TrapKAT generates Poly AT twice for certain touch events, once on touch, once on release - any note on/off falls between the two. So it's down to the device what order events come in. (It's used as a cymbal "grab"/mute gesture.)

Yes but once you release you cannot generate further poly AT events, for obvious reasons.

If I touch the pad right, it generates a poly AT event at 127, when I release the pad I get a poly AT at 0, a lot like note on vel = ... to note on vel = 0 for a note. I'm not certain it necessarily sends a note event at all - maybe only if I touch the pad a bit harder. There's a range over which I get both and I'm never quite sure what the highest note velocity is that still triggers the mute effect (poly AT). You can set the TrapKAT up to only send Note On events (no Note off, no Note On vel=0) as well, so there's no concept of the note release being mandatory.
