There should be a green button on the top right saying that you need to install factory data, is it there? Anyways you need to reinstall the MSoundFactoryEssentials, some new devices are using data, that weren't previously there. I was hoping the green button would suffice, but seems like it's not enoughfmr wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:30 am I am experiencing error messages when loading some presets in in MSoundFactory. The messages are related with missing samples or something. I even uninstalled and reinstalled everythjing fresh, but the errors remain. The installer finished OK, and everything else is working OK.
Anyone?
JayJ: No solution for the graphs, sorry, in any case that wouldn't apply on MSpectralDynamicsLE. The presets should work the same.

I see no such button. Anyway, I looked for the referred "MSoundFactoryEssentials". It says: "...is mandatory for MSoundFactory to work properly...". If it is "mandatory", why isn't it installed together with MSoundFactory? It doesn't make sense.MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:51 amThere should be a green button on the top right saying that you need to install factory data, is it there? Remember the installer is for all plugins. So having the MSF content separately makes the installer small (fast to download) for users wishing to install products other than MSF.fmr wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 12:55 pmI see no such button. Damn, the button should be there... Oh well. Could you send me a screenshot to info@meldaproduction.com ?
Anyways exactly as jmg8 says - the essentials are like 3GB, so it's a pretty standard process to download additional content afterwards.

Then, may I suggest at least suggest a message after the installer ends, with something like this:MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 2:54 pm Damn, the button should be there... Oh well. Could you send me a screenshot to info@meldaproduction.com ?

"Users of MSoundFactory and MDrummer please download the mandatory library first time you run the respective instruments".
Or better yet, create a routine in the instruments which would ask the user to point to the Library Directory, and in case it doesn't exist present a dialog box to start the download. Something is better than having an error message without any clue why.

That's what the green button is for, it should be visible enough! But if it doesn't show... It should definitely show for first time users though.

Ah, that's a shame... It's just that anyone like me who's starting with the LE version, doesn't really have a good idea of exactly what effect the modes (and the controls in each mode) are having on the sound.MeldaProduction wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:51 am

Still, if the presets work, that should be interesting to try out and see what each of them actually do.

Thanks. I've downloaded, using MSF, the Essentials. It reported downloaded and installed successfully.DarkStar wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2020 9:27 pm NB: Vojtech mentioned in the V14.08 Release NotesMSoundFactoryEssentials has been updated, so please use the new downloader to get it and install it.
That MSF installer does not report that the Monastery Grand is installed even though it is. And I've played it quite a few times. Same with MDrummer Essentials and the Electronic kit, not installed. Is this a shortcoming of the MSF installer ? Or are there new versions altogether ?
Cheers.

JayJ: Well, the underlying stuff wouldn't really help you that much, just think of MSDLE as a collection of plugins
.
mevla: Unfortunately there's no log of installations, but I'll try to do some detection for the next version.

1. The final "Next" in the Melda 14 Installer should say "install" or "Install Now". I was surprised that the installation started when I clicked on "next"
2. Is there any need to un-install anything prior to installing the update?
3. Surprised that the Melda Installer 14 search for Melda files missed my (S) Sample drive MeldaProduction\Monastery Grand and \MSoundFactroyEssentials
4. The Installer did not find my MeldaProduction Project file which is empty in the (P) Project drive.
5. Hmm. MDrummer factory Path. Why in C drive? Can put in the (S) Sample drive MeldaProduction\MDrummer? I realize it is stressed that to use the Melda default folder locations but wonder what issues can develop if not. Yes I read the manual but still not clear about this data folder. Sorry!

I have been browsing through the presets, and noticed that some use samples that are NOT in the MSoundFactory Essentiials. For example, when trying to load Cinematic Braams, I get the following error:
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I still think that this sample management thing is quite messy, and you must devise some other methd to do the sample management. Presets should install dependencies automatically, so I suggest you separate the presets from the instrument installer, and organize the preset packs with the samples together, to avoid these surprises.
I also found another preset that uses MDrummer samples. I certainly don't want to waste a few GB of my hard-drive to install a sample pack just because of one or two presets, so I think those samples should either install also with the MSoundFactory sample set or, better yet, install together with the preset.

KalamataKid:
1-Good idea, we'll see about that.
2-No
3-It cleans up plugins (because that's where the problems can start), not data.
4-I don't know what "project" is
5-You can certainly put it anywhere you want, that's why it is configurable
fmr: These are some MDrummer data. You don't need to install them, the packs are big, but then the instruments certainly won't sound as expected. See, there's a big power for you available - you can use any kind of sound from all our collection, including MDrummer, but certainly you cannot expect to work without installing it

I disagree.
Samples used in factory-supplied devices should be in the MSF Essentials pack. Otherwise users will get a false impression of the designer's devices.
Studio 2018 is not available individually for download any more, the 2008-2018 download is nearly 20 GB.
