For reasons that were almost certainly on my end, the emails took a while to arrive. All good now, thanks!seb@plogue wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 5:47 pm You mean the installers? They are in the email that is sent to you after the purchase.
the old free version may not work boots successfully on new generations of computers, instruments, and hardware

David Wise might want to load his DKC SPCs and redo them. Many composers might get rights to
do official remasters of old games, etc.
A composition student might want to study a piece by muting/soloing things and playing the parts.
What you do with copyrighted material is up to you, we surely do not condone making commercial recordings with lifted samples, although its a mucky legal area. What if you own a M1 and lift a M1 sample from a SPC?
In any case this is sold as a import-your-own-samples Sampler or use the factory. No preset use copyrighted samples that were not cleared for this purpose.

Oh don't worry, I didn't take it the wrong way. This is an absolutely legitimate concern/question and I knew it would be asked. As far as AMIGA, I have an idea or three.

the auto-repitch-to-C4 feature is really neat and something I don't see enough of in software samplers (I'm not sure I've actually ever seen it... can anyone name another plugin that does this?) - it makes just plopping in a bunch of layers nice and fun to do
quick tip for anyone fiddling with loop points and getting confused by the zoom: the horizontal zoom center seems to be the last place you clicked in the sample window

Yeah that tries to mimic what I'm used to doing in Sound Forge, though in that instance there is a marker that appear where you last clicked. Hum...NERF_PROTOSS wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 4:07 pm quick tip for anyone fiddling with loop points and getting confused by the zoom: the horizontal zoom center seems to be the last place you clicked in the sample window

awesome, i jsut bought it recently and play around with it. ok sorry i need to ask and didnt want to google too much .
how can you play/use the plugin authentically?
i see you got 8 channels, did the chip could play 8 sounds at the same time? so max of 8 sounds limited? (as the c64 it couldnt play 20 sounds the same time learned that too this year that it was limited to 3 and with a trick to 4 sounds the same time).
so the presets sometimes have 4 or 6 channels at the same time with 1 sound.
to explain it more directly.
1. does the super famicom sound chip play 8 sounds the same time? was it limited to 8 sounds?
2. how many samples per channel was it limited? why can you load in 16 samples when it was limited to 8 channels?
i will load in some game SFCs to learn how it was set up in the past
sorry for the questions but im so happy PLOGUE releases such awesome stuff for game music nerds ;D thx a lot!

1. 8 independent voices. Its up to you to manage them (8 separate mono MIDI channels - or 8 layers in a layered synth (or combinations thereof) - but this was rarely done in games because uh, well 8 channels total and you need to write a full song)
2. The same pool of samples can be used by the 8 voices however they want. We limited the pool to 16 different samples because (from stats) we found that very few overall soundtracks used more than that and wanted to tidy the UI. Also to force users to stay in the SNES mindset.
Cheers
