Also is the current price an introductory price or is it the final price?

No demo ?
ANd please if you release a demo , get rid of the 5 min. restriction . perhaps make it 10 or 15 if you feel rock n' roll enough ( nobody will sample it ) :)

Why only 5 minutes , it really doesn't make any sense ..are you so afraid people might sample it ?

No but render full songs yes. Many people have bragged doing so in the past.

Plogue could run a promotional contest next month after the demo is released: the Super Five-minute Challenge. Folks must use the demo version of chipsynth SFC to create an original track (up to five minutes in length) that highlights the chipsynth SFC. Only one entry may be submitted to Plogue for judging. The prize for the winning entry could be a NotForResale license of chipsynth SFC.

Five minutes isn't good for anything more than quickly running through the presets. Which isn't really much more helpful than listening to demos. I'm interested in your chipsynth products but have not yet bought any due to the inability to properly test them.

That's my perspective too...

Sorry for the OT, but I was trying to access Plogue's forum (which for me is a vault for Bidule tricks and ideas...) and I get a "Forbidden" error.
Is the forum termporarily offline?

Thanks and many compliments for Your new Chipsynth SFC (which I'll buy in the next weeks, so I will complete my Plogue collection :) ).

PS which will be the next one: FC or 64 (ot PCE or a DXonSteroids or...)? I hope 64! ;)

Its up here now. Hmm.

Thanks for the comments on SFC. Next one is not 100% decided, but as it stands now its one that has never been "fully" announced.

Hi all! I'm new here but have been monitoring this thread for a while :)

Full disclosure, I'm not an employee of Plogue but I've been working with them closely on csSFC for a long while. So my opinions may be a bit biased but imo I feel like I'd still have this opinion even if I wasn't involved.

Anyway the 5 minute time limit is understandable because the software is their livelihood. I've had my work stolen and distributed without my permission before and it just sucks putting so much time and effort into something and not seeing anything out of it.

All that being said, the 5 minute limit shouldn't be a deal breaker because it's pretty easy to just load a new instance (or replacing an instance). In cakewalk, my DAW of choice, it's 3 mouse clicks. There are also plenty of videos out there reviewing the software to show how it works. I have a tutorial series I'm in the middle of producing to show how it works as well as have a 25 minute overview video explaining nearly every button, knob, and function of the plugin.

David's video itself shows he's at least done $40 worth of research on the SNES hardware, and the progression he's made in the SNES audio emulation scene alone is worth a view of the research that went into this.

All in all, I really don't think a 5 minute demo should be your deal breaker, though I do respect everyone's opinion here.

Edit: fixed a typo

I've tried again and on Firefox 52.x (on XP, long story...) I still got the "403 Forbidden" error, but on the same PC, using a webkit based browser (Maxthon) it's up and running. Very strange...

Even more exciting! Great!

If there's one thing I've learned on KvR over the past 17 years it's that no matter which demo limitation you use there will always be people who say they don't like the demo limitation and won't buy the plugin as a result. If Plogue went with something else the number of complaints would remain the same even if the names changed.

I'm not saying you should change your position, just that some incompatibility is inevitable in a world with thieves. I personally refuse to even consider plugins that use iLok. Some honest customers will get locked out (by preference) along with the thieves.
