Thanks. This was literally thrown together. I have no idea what I was thinking. LOLlayzer wrote: Sat Sep 26, 2020 10:10 pm Worf:
here we go with another Wagsterpiece.
ahhh we all started somewhere, this kind of
reminded me of some of my own first works
back in the 80's bouncing tracks back n forth
between 2 tape decks. i had a cheapo casio keyboard.
and that was it. the mix on this was actually not that
bad considering being an early effort.
i can easily hear this being on one of kraftwerks rare
early albums "Drunkwerks"
fun listen.

The randomness was hitting keys randomly. I think a monkey could have made this track. But thanks for the listen and the feedback.Allomerus wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 9:16 am Work 324.
This has a nice quirky feel to it and sounds good! (The randomness is nice).

Give it enough time and you could generate a symphony, or is that Shakespeare?wagtunes wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 10:21 amThe randomness was hitting keys randomly. I'm not sure. I'll have to do some research.Allomerus wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 10:29 amGive it enough time and you could generate a symphony, or is that Shakespeare?wagtunes wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 10:21 amThe randomness was hitting keys randomly. What synths did you use on that old Musical song from 2003? I like that brass sound.
I’d assume you had a Sound Canvas or JV-2080?

Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

My main synth back then was a Korg Triton rack. I also had a DX 7 which I doubt I used for this track as well as a A4 drum module that I also probably didn't use.Music Bird wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 9:04 pm What synths did you use on that old Musical song from 2003? I like that brass sound.

Thanks. In the meantime, I have my own problem that I posted in Production Techniques. This musical thing is proving to be a real challenge.vurt wrote: Wed Sep 30, 2020 5:37 pmi think its fairly obviously the immature bullying.

Theory is more chords, melody, theory. This is more "I can't tell what damn instruments are playing in order to do the correct production of my musical."vurt wrote: Wed Sep 30, 2020 6:08 pm actually, would arrangement/orchestration come under production techniques?

Sure, maybe it's a gray area. I don't know. But I don't want to go spamming the forum with this thing so I went with production and I'm going to live with it.

Today I will be starting work on the actual music to my musical.
I am also taking a long break from the forum. It's been long overdue and I need it. I'll be returning sometime after the New Year. By then, the musical should be close to being completed.
You all have a great rest of the year.

wagtunes,
Hope you are doing well. I am reviewing "Universe Home". The first part (about a third) reminds me of the music they play on the Disneyland (I live about 30 minutes from Disneyland if the traffic is decent) ride "Space Mountain" (good). Then the second (roughly third of the song) part reminds me of a cross between Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd (2 of my favorites). Then there is the last (roughly) third. I like that horn. I honestly think your vocals work very well here, especially with the theme of the lyrics (even though there is some sadness, I think the lyrics are very well done). Instrumentally/sound effects all sound quite good. Got a bit of goosebumps towards the end, which is a very good sign. Very good job!
Perhaps you could review "The Creation" at this location when you have time:
