I forgot one that gets overlooked a lot that in my opinion totally stacks up to absolutely anything else out there - Poy-Ana. It's like a best of everything vintage analog synth. And still today, the sound is one of the best.

ME80 is totally underrated as well.

Great way to say absolutely nothing. My ears work just like everyone else's, I can hear all the same things you can and if someone was to say they prefer the sound of a Juno, then there is no argument, but when they try to suggest it actually sounds good, that's an entirely different matter.

Release uses the decay setting. Works a treat. I don't miss yet another knob to set at all.

One should close their eyes before playing it tho. :hihi:

chk071 wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2020 10:30 am I bought it cheaper as well. But, it's definitely worth $99, when you compare it to other plugins. The Legend costs $99, so, why wouldn't this be worth $99?

Oh, I forgot. Basically, it's worth what it's worth for you. :P How nice is it that you have so many different dynamic prices that YOU can decide when it's worth it for you?

Anyway, Ploki is the super PA KVR hater no.1, so, I don't wonder about any of his comments here anymore. The question for me is just what's so damn important that he feels like commenting on software he's not even interested in. Ah well, I know the answer to that one as well.
Because i have an axe to grind

Anyway, this just came out:

If this is worth 99$, oberhausen isnt

imo it’s better than legend, and legend is better than diva (at being a minimoog).
The filter resonance and feedback are gorgeous.

+ some extra perks like Modular modules and loadable as FX to use the filter, and amp room modules

The 3D Position. You should maybe watch some Demos for Soundpacks (Luftfrum maybe), they´re mostly quiet "Post modern".

The 80s wouldn´t have been the 80s if they would´ve had the Diva - and Diva is definitely too clean. Diva. Duck Face in Pink Pantys. Our Gals were simply cute ;-)

(1:35 is nice)
What is your mission? Convincing people by posting random sound examples from youtube? I dont get it

Luftrum is a well known sound designer, but there are sound designers that are ... lets say ... more interesting  (f.e. The Unfinished or Empty Vessel)

If you like 80's sounds, then check this random sound example from youtube

Maybe you need more 399$ ceramic cable lifters.
They say it improves 3D and frequency balance

IIRC, Urs said once that they deliberately made Diva more bright than the synths they modelled. It's also a lot cleaner than Monark, for example (a lot less saturation in the filter or signal path).

Is the Softube Minimoog really better than The Legend? If you compare the features one very interesting feature is missing: polyphony.
Is it the most accurate Minimoog emulation? Maybe, but since there are hardly any identical hardware and nobody has yet made a blind test e.g. on YouTube, it's hard to say.
Does Softube sound better than The Legend? Many people are rather reserved with their opinion about that.

IMO yes...
When i demoed the legend it wasn’t better enough to me compared to diva to buy it.
This one however is oozing with flavour

Would like to comment on that, but then the creeps who can't take criticism about their favorite toy come out, so I won't.

So, just read between the lines. :D

I was just getting into that video and it finished.

Mind you I have clicked on "unfinished" and he has some pretty impressive stuff in there.

Can anything compete with DIVA or Repro ?

Nah.

The Unfinished is an exceptional talent! His Zebra Soundsets are also worth checking :tu:

It's okay, i don't take PA kool-aid guzzlers seriously anymore

Tbh I'd pick Softube due to extra perks (Modular modules, Amp Room modules and FX mode) if i didn't have a Model D yet, but I wouldn't get it if i already had the Legend

For me polyphony doesn't matter, I will use it 99.99% for bass or lead sounds.
Thus far, I think I prefer the sound of Legend whilst just playing it (still really don't quite like the factory presets in general, but with effort I can get sounds out of it I like) solo'ed.
What I like more about the Model 72 though is the layout is more akin to the original and thus easier to copy written patch presets. But more so, it seems somehow to fit better in my mixes than Legend (or Monark which i do prefer more than Legend when solo'ed, and its presets)
