All MeldaProduction plugins updated to 14.09

Hi folks,

next update is here . 14.09 is an important update which comes up with several improvements, new features and fixes. Mainly, a full support for ambisonics (up to 64 channels) has been added. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

Not sure I see much of a correlation here either

I think it should only concern sound processors, with audio inputs.
But I've only barely scratched the surface of 360° audio, progressively getting more interested.

3D audio/video content (or VR in general) is rapidly expanding and it's likely a good move for Melda to chime in. I wonder if we'll eventually get to see some dedicated plugins, like encoders/decoders, spatial positioning tools, or something else.

Yeah, ambisonics is becoming a really big deal in things like video games. One of the big Playstation 5 features is 3d audio, higher order ambisonics is a part of that. I'm excited that Melda have invested here, they're ahead of the game with this 7th order support.

Just wanna give a shout out to Sound Devices and their MixPre 6-ii. Their support has been great and the new firmware is stable as far as I can tell. I think the ambisonic plugin is extra but I'm glad I didn't get the Zoom.

EDIT: Thanks for the downvote but the reason I'm saying this is because Melda now supports ambisonics and the MixPre does too. I'm just letting people know that I'm happy with this recorder in case they might want to invest in one.

There are videos on YouTube about the Zoom F6 not supporting mic level output which, to me, is a travesty considering that most DSLR/mirrorless cameras only have that option and that's their target market.

But hey, downvotes are easier than questions.

Which plugins really support ambisonics? How to set up the channels? How to change order?

Many of them.

• Click the [L/R] button in the right-hand Toolbar, select "Activate ambisonics".
• Close your DAW (that is needed as not all will handle such a change to the plug-ins well).
• Open the DAW, load the plug-in.
• Click the [L/R] button and select "Ambisonics".
• Click the [Amb] button and select "Ambisonics settings".
