i meant it for real, after so many years and all the shit going on and you check lyrics on music you might realize how much there is in there. not only rap music.Dirtgrain wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:02 pmWhat rap music has done to reinforce a negative view toward women in those who listen to it has been significant. I wouldn't downplay it at all.Caine123 wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:57 pm when i listen to rap and check the lyrics, oh my, i would have to stop listening to rap music mostly. maybe i should overthink what im listening to.
"Overthink," here, is a dismissive, thought-terminating cliché. It would be nice to never see that damn word in discussions ever again. Blech.

The old, it has been this way forever, therefore it is right argument. Well, this is not the thread that bigger discussion, but you brought in the rap music comparison. When rap music (or hardcore music, heavy metal and such) is your barometer for what disrespect toward women is appropriate in a preset name, I can understand how you hold that position. I still disagree.Caine123 wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:12 pm i meant it for real, after so many years and all the shit going on and you check lyrics on music you might realize how much there is in there. not only rap music.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

It's possible to listen to rap music, hear "Clean your room up bitch" and still treat women with respect and politeness. Many rappers are able to separate between show and private life. As are most punk musicians, grunge musicians and hardrock musicians, too.

And of course the offended parties should dare not take offense huh?
I never noticed the names, and still not sure what are the ones that have altered curse/offensive words in it, but I did see the clean the room one after being alerted to it on this thread, and it is indeed in poor taste.
But then again we live in a world now where apparently we aren't suppose to care or be offended by these things.......sigh

Take a look at our next upcoming XT. This time the targeted genre is Progressive House. The preset is called Streetlights and a Splitted Sequence.

I'd be more offended by the fact there's a developer laughing about his customers with friends and family. But on the other hand I don't care as I don't even own this synth XD I'm more than happy with all the stuff.

Why are you laughing? You think it’s funny that people CARE for equality?Mirko R. wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:49 pmI showed this post my girlfriend and we both are launghing now,... xD dude, calm down!THE INTRANCER wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:25 pm Something I've noticed with Rapid and needs sorting out (vetted), is the naming of preset patches which are provided. They are immature and offensive towards women. I mean, an arpeggiation patch called "Clean Up My Room Bitch". Created by Mirko Ruta.. Like seriously... what kind of message is Parawave trying to send here ? Because it certainly isn't a good one. It's not the only instance, there's a category of the arp presets with couple of X'ed out letters, which anyone with reading ability would interpret. I mean sure one can either rename or delete them, but that's kinda missing the point I'm making. I've no idea how many more instances like this that there might be in their preset packs but really... it's not a good look and it's not funny.
Word bitch has been even peeped out in some tv & radio since it is offensive.
This is not about RAP music where you can think you will hear some offensive lyrics. This is VST synth, meant for every genre for every user. So using offensive words is very poor taste.
But even worse is to see person who is part of Rapid sound design laughing about when a user is concerned about offensive words.

Is this “bitch” word used inside factory presets? Or is that inside some extra sound pack (maybe rap oriented pack)? If it’s inside factory, very bad!
