FR: Better GUI visuals on edits 'Drastic' functions

Sorry if I haven't been grammatically correct in the threads title, but there's some things that I believe will give the user a better and more reassuring experience overall within Waveform.
(1) When saving an edit using shortcut keys combo 'CTRL S' There needs to be some dialogue to confirm that this action has happened.
I think this can be done with either a popup or probably preferred, text in the menu bar. There would obviously need to be a way of making it noticeable but not too distracting at the same time . I visualize this with perhaps scrolling text and a slight flashing of a low opacity background.
(2) There needs to be a more noticeable visual indication when clicking on the text boxes. Take for example Settings/Plugins/Scanning and Sorting ...
When I press this or any other text box I notice very little graphical difference and am unsure if I have even clicked the button.
Anyway thanks guys and hope to get some user feedback back also.

Tracktion saves backups and changes continuously. Basically you need to save only, if you want a state to restore.
You can hit „save as“, should be ctrl+shift+s. Then you’ll get a popup.
Personally: I don't like pop ups. They lock the UI and are in the way when working swiftly. It’s fine as it is. I’m comfortable with what my fingers are doing, thats the quickest feedback there is.

Good points there, thank you. A pop up is probably distracting, but personally I need to know that I have actually pressed ctrl+s as it's possible to miss the combination on occasion. I'll post screenshots of software that does this.
I know that my background of using alpha, beta and so called stable apps has trained me to always save after every important step has made me cautious of losing work.
It's also realtime critical to not constantly have the software make backups every few seconds, well on Linux as far as I know. Don't get me wrong Waveform is one of the few that do this well, the crash recovery is one of the best I know.

Using ctrl-s on LMMS makes it clear that I have actually saved. This seems non intrusive to me, but very clear the operation has succeeded.
