If you change the "User Library Folder" preference then you should get an alert saying you need to restart. So in case of MUX Plugin this means restarting your DAW. (in fact it's about fully restarting MUX plugin but some DAWs keep plugins open even after deleting the last instance of the plugin so most sure way is to restart your DAW)

But if it's your goal to add all of MuLib to your user library why don't you simply put the entire MuLib folder inside your existing (default?) user folder. That will keep all your own MUX library files and add MuLib to it.The default user folder for MUX plugin is MUX/User/Library.

I restarted The DAW, tried multiple DAWs even... It is not showing anything for me? And my goal would be to find a way to have a unified user folder of presets that works for BOTH Mulab and Mux, so I didn't have to have multiples... But For some reason I can't get ANYTHING added to MUX outside of the standard folders within the vst folder... It's incredibly frustrating. Why is it so difficult to just add folders as simply as I add vsts? Just add a source to a list and have them scanned on request... It just wont find ANYTHING!

:(

Thanks for the reply, but there's something broken here.

If you want a common user folder for both MuLab and MUX Plugin, that's an already more complex case.
Luckily it is a supported case. See the section "User Folder" in this doc page:

Ooof, that's scary... Awesome that it's 'possible' but the implementation feels more like 'hacking' than a setting for a non coding pleb like me. I'll do my best to try it out, but an internal GUI laying out these options would be a lot more comforting (even tho it probably seems silly to a pro at coding such as yourself)... I know you have a lot on your hands as is, and you do a great job with a lot of this stuff... If you do have the option, I'd love for this to be refined a little more for the common folk such as me :)

Also tho... Is there a known issue with what I was trying initially? Why wouldn't it allow me to choose a folder the way I was?

That's not possible. Where would you store your preferences about the user folder if it is about defining the user folder?? It's a chicken-egg problem. That's why it is a less standard = more complex situation.

But maybe i misinterpreted your post. There is an essential difference between the "User Folder" and the "User Library Folder". The "User Folder" also contains all your settings, including where the "User Library Folder" is etc. That's why defining a common User Folder is more complex than defining a common User Library Folder which is only about presets etc.

Defining a common User Library Folder can indeed be done via the GUI, specifically via the Preference "User Library Folder" as explained above.
Also tho... Is there a known issue with what I was trying initially? Why wouldn't it allow me to choose a folder the way I was?
No known issue, defining a custom User Library Folder works fine here.

Sorry, must've been my ignorance... I was trying to get the MuLib Presets to show... I have the folder selected... If you look at the screen capture in the first drive link I added, you'll see the path in prefs... I don't understand what's happening here? So bizarre it just flat refuses to give me ANY user presets folder option with that folder selected.
