What is the flop?
Give it a few years. Happens to the best of us. :(

I wonder too though. What flop?

I guess the big "we announce Vanguard2 in several newsletters etc over a big period of time and then just discontinue all products besides Nexus". Or the "we have delayed the Nexus3 release because it did not meet our quality standards" and 2 weeks after release it has been v3.0.11 and still not clos to being stable or so. Could also be the big "we shutdown all critics, even bug reports in a big choleric manner" :D

i think VANGUARD2 would be well received in the saturated VA market.
i still use and love VANGUARD x32

Wasn't the problem with Vanguard2 it has originally been coded by the Tone2 founder who left refx? If so, I doubt it will sound the same or even close.
I did code the audio-engines for reFX Vanguard, reFX JunoX, reFX PlastiCZ and reFX Slayer. reFX licensed my code and I received payments for it.
Please note that I never was responsible for the business-side, customer-relationship or marketing of reFX. I am also not involved into Nexus.

I founded Tone2, since reFX refused to release Tone2 FilterBank and FireBird. They had secretly started to work on Nexus with Vengeance.

Some months ago reFX licensed my old audio-DSP-code for Vanguard2. The rest of the product is done by reFX. I expect that it will sound very similar and be downward compatible.
So far I have not seen the product itself, that's why I don't know more about it. According to Eva the product is close to being finished.

Thanks for the update, Markus! You have done a fabulous job with those synths.

Vanguard 2 release will be quite nostalgic. It is one of the first synths I tried when I started with music production, loved it, but unfortunately could not afford/buy it. Perhaps I will be able to now.

So if they really release a Version 2 will this give them new chances to scam people in the long run?!
