they can work out everything they need to know on a smartphone, technology or lack of data is not the reason they haven't gone back to the moon.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 12:30 am I wondered what the moon landing has to do with recreating vintage synths, but actually it's not so different! We are trying to recreate something with different technology that apparently is not so easy!
What good is landing on the moon, if you just go and destroy the technology so you can't do it again? That's a bit of an oopsy eh? Along with recording over the tapes that contained the telemetry data. I think NASA needs new management. Successful mission? Great, now destroy everything! And re-use those tapes, we don't 'em anymore.

you would need to hand over $105,855 in today's equivalent, but you're missing the point

Landing on the moon didn't happen. It was a conspiracy, innitAnX wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 7:33 amthey can work out everything they need to know on a smartphone, technology or lack of data is not the reason they haven't gone back to the moon.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 12:30 am I wondered what the moon landing has to do with recreating vintage synths, but actually it's not so different! we are waiting for jonsolo guy to make it a social media sensation. he's already exploded our brains with the breaking news Gforce site was up on 16th instead of 13th, just imagine what he can do with 1969 NASA videos. I expect Elliot Carver level villainery, no less.Guys, why are none of you mentioning the moon landing?
We landed a freaking man... on the freaking moon!
no fake moon landing conspiracies please. we need something more macabre this time.

saying that creamware were the only good ones is a bit far fetched .electro wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 2:15 am Anything accomplished on 1969 tech is infinitely easier and far less expensive to do in 2019 (a 50 year tech leap is huge, just compare the videogame visuals from pong and Atari to now, or look how far VSTs have come since 2007 when Creamware DSP were the only good ITB synths, now surpassed by U-he, Synapse and Softube). Our cheapest 2020 smartphones have like 100x the computing power of the most advanced 1969 microprocessor. Technology never goes backwards. There should be mining and other commercial / private sector space flights on a annual basis by now, if not more frequent. A Moon based theme park perhaps "Disney - North"? The Jetsons had it right.
G-force started it all with Oddity , ( 2003 ?) , so was imp oscar , released 2004 etc...
Some great ensembles in reaktor 5 (2004-2005) , utilising core dsp language , 2-osc etc..

Oddity was the first serious Native Synth emulation. Put Oddity in the same league as Prodyssey which did not have correct voicing. Some claimed Vaz modular was another one at that time. Creamware Minimax and Prophet were far beyond native.gentleclockdivider wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 2:15 pmsaying that creamware were the only good ones is a bit far fetched .electro wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 2:15 am Anything accomplished on 1969 tech is infinitely easier and far less expensive to do in 2019 (a 50 year tech leap is huge, just compare the videogame visuals from pong and Atari to now, or look how far VSTs have come since 2007 when Creamware DSP were the only good ITB synths, now surpassed by U-he, Synapse and Softube).
