Recording Midi automation on Mxxx (ABLETON)

Hi, any resource videos on how to midi map in Mxxx? When I manually drag controllers to record automation, nothing happens. How to record movements on Mxxx? I'm in ableton 10 with lot's of experience, but can't figure this one out. Thanks for the help

As for automation, you can only automate multiparameters, so please attach what you want to automate to an MP and you are good to go. This is because MXXX can have virtually infinite parameters.
