Also keep an eye to the levels in the plugin! In some presets they easily clip, and you should compensate lowering the output (there's a down arrow button supporting this).
I'm using the mixing - full correction preset mostly, of course with my headphone model profile activated.

Anyone using AutoEQ profile + CanOpener? How does this compare?
Im using AutoEQ with Equilibrium + CanOpener and its just fantastic. Previously I was using Reference 4 and this just blows it away.
UPDATE: Just tried it out and even though its better than reference 4 its not as good as my setup.

Well, Realphones does a bit more than just correction and crossfeed, it is more comparable to TB Isone or Waves AbbeyRoad studio, i think.Fabriciom wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 9:15 pm Anyone using AutoEQ profile + CanOpener? How does this compare?

Personally i never got around all the crossfeed simulations, including CanOpener. It always sounded wrong and unpleasant to me, nothing at all like listening to speakers.
But as with all this stuff, there is no right or wrong, its highly individual.

I downloaded the demo running with 800s headphone.
Did some casual listening with flac files ripped from CDs during my free time. The player is called Jriver which can load in VST plugin for users to fine tune their music listening experience. I found that with RH disabled, the sound image of the flac files were more wide open and the High is more revealed. Even if I tune the speaker placement angles doesn't make the image as wide as the original flac files. Moreover, without using RH, I could hear high of the hi-hats / tambourines. Hope this is just me but I will give it another spin this week.

I'm afraid the main point of this plugin (for me at least) is not fully understood: for me, this plugin is not meant to allow hearing tracks more pleasantly and in more fine detail, rather to allow listening in an environment that makes it easier to find issues and make mixing decisions aimed to better overall mix translation. Which is something I always struggled at with my setup (and I mostly have to work in headphones). You can think of it as Yamaha NS-10 on steroids in your headphone.
I understood in minutes that the low end was far too much in the track I was working too, even though I was using reference tracks: I don't have a sub and my headphones don't go down there (and even if they did, I'm pretty sure they couldn't have the right stereo image represented).
By using the second preset (mixing optimized) the subwoofer emulation brought this into light instantly (again in comparison to reference tracks).
Presets like "next door" help a lot to understand the overall balance. You don't hear everything fine, but you hear as if you were in a different place. And you can eventually work to get the mix as pleasant as possible even in that situation ...
And, anyway, this is not phasey or unpleasant like others I tested.
Here are channel crossfeed, room emulation and specific headphones frequency correction in a single plugin.
You can use presets or get lost in the various parameters. It is not Slate VSX, but it doesn't come with a customheadphone and it costs, currently, 1/10 of the price.
My 2 cents...
If I can tell something I would change is I wish I could buy single models instead of three packs over time.

I'm using an SPL Phonitor with crossfeed, speaker angle and center level.
CanOpener improves on this way better than phonitor and Realphones.
Then on top of that EQ correction from AutoEQ + Equilibrium.
It just sounds correct and flat, nothing I've herd before from my headsets (Audeze lcd2 fazors).
Is it more pleasant not really, there is less bass but everything is more "correct".
What I get from realphones is a not an improved sound from my headphones and crossfeed with reverb changes.
I really can't tell if the crossfeed and room emulation is any better because the actual EQ of my headphones is not as good as with AutoEQ + Equilibrium. So everything else sounds worse.

Sorry I got it wrong, I understood you were getting good results thx to the phonitor.
CanOpener though doesn't have room emulations unless I'm mistaken, so you're missing part of the benefits. Of course, if it works well for you I'm happy for you

The thing is that the EQuing of the headsets is not right (which is what Realphones is missing for me) I cant really use the room emulation.mabian wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 7:45 amSorry I got it wrong, I understood you were getting good results thx to the phonitor.

Its better than with Reference 4 but not as good as the profile I found with AutoEQ + Equilibrium.
I haven't tried Waves NX with this new setup but when I tried it a while back it was NOT good.

So if it would be possible to load an EQ correction profile in RealPhones, like the one from AutoEQ from my specific headphone, it should be much better, right?

Of course, but I understood that the problem is that the freq correction in RealPhones (at least for your phones) is not right so if it was, maybe the problem was solved.Fabriciom wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:19 amIf I could do it and try it out I would be able to let you know....mabian wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:16 am So if it would be possible to load an EQ correction profile in RealPhones, like the one from AutoEQ from my specific headphone, it should be much better, right?

Out of curiosity, did you set the correction slider to 100? Only so the correction is applied in full extent.

Yes I had the slider at 100.mabian wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:25 amOf course, but I understood that the problem is that the freq correction in RealPhones (at least for your phones) is not right so if it was, maybe the problem was solved.Fabriciom wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:19 amIf I could do it and try it out I would be able to let you know....mabian wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:16 am So if it would be possible to load an EQ correction profile in RealPhones, like the one from AutoEQ from my specific headphone, it should be much better, right?

Hello! I hope that is OK for developer to reply in this thread.dionenoid wrote: Sat Oct 17, 2020 1:37 pm Even loads Sonarworks and Morphit profiles. Nice.
Slate VSX is 500 bucks including headphone, everybody is raving about that one but there's unfortunately no way to demo it.
If Realphones works well with my existing headphones it would be nice. They already announced that they'll add more room simulations. Time to demo i guess.
Realphones does not load Sonarworks and ToneBoosters profiles. It has matching Recalibrate profiles which let you to use Reference or Morphit software together with Realphones. This feature is available in Realphones Pro and Ultimate editions.
