One issue I often have with nice edge of breakup tones is that when you dig and get more saturation the low end gets flubby.
Is there a way in Axiom to have a low end cut that reacts to playing dynamics to cut more the harder you play ?

There is no such feature in Axiom. However you could load a third party multiband compressor such as the MB-5 Dynamix plug-in.
We have noticed that adding a multiband compander before amp sims can produce very interesting results on guitars (not only by compressing the low end). You can for example gate only the high-end of the spectrum to get rid of single coil buzzing or add some compression on low-mids to remove some of the "mud" produced by some neck pickups etc.

You can also look at the MB-7 Mixer: it lets you load any plug-in (and has many built-in plug-ins like Axiom) on several frequency bands.
