Still less blurry than MixBox on default 100% size
I guess this is the "new normal" to have blurry plugins. I learned from IKM that blurry GUI is a minor issue. Who need healthy eyes anyway?

This is incorrect. With Waves Central, you can move licenses between computers an unlimited number of times. The only catch is you have to move the licenses to the Waves Cloud first and can't move them directly between two computers.fceramic wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 11:50 am Why can't Waves just look at Plugin Alliance, which is such a dream to license and install?
Also why can't I move a license from one computer to another? It's limited to one move per year. What is the reasoning behind that?
All I want is Renaissance compressors and their tape plugins (still sound really unique in a cool lofi way).

I can't even imagine how much work it would be to create proper upscaling UIs for all their plugins. How many plugins do Waves have? Must be an insane amount of work. But... it really feels like they are milking it. I don't want to be that "this should have been a free update"-guy, but... it should have been a free update
At least they are aware of their UIs and as someone said - proper upscaling will probably arrive with a future version.

Yeah, great idea. Once I did it and I still have to wait until 2021 to recover licenses from USB because right after I took it away and put back, Waves couldnt recognize that it's the same USB Pendrive that was plugged there 1 minute ago.cprompt wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 11:53 amPut the licenses on a USB stick and then you can plug that in to any computer you want.fceramic wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 11:50 amAlso why can't I move a license from one computer to another? I know that it's becasue Windows suck at managing USB devices but still.
The fact that I can't use plugins that I bought for 1 years is also wonderful. I lvoe Waves

Well, on the plus side I just updated all the freebies that I've had from Waves over the last year to V12. They seem to be giving them away quite regularly these days. It's been at least a couple of years since I've spent anything on them and to be honest I've got better alternatives to many of them already. The GUI's are a bit more usable now as many of them used to be terribly small.

All plugins except MixBus for me. MB is unbearable to use until I resize it to full screen and then it's still bit blurry in comparison to everything else in my DAW.poshook wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 6:52 pmWaves is way more blurry than IKM. EDIT:
Default size 100% in 2560x1080. MixBox is the only plugin I have that is that much blurry until it's resized significantly (which is kinda pointless for me because I don't need or want 1 plugin to cover entire screen space)

Bezerk only looks sharp at 75% scale on my 23" retina screen. The claim "Enjoy sharper graphics & optimized GPU performance on Macs with retina displays" is clearly false for all size settings. WUP cash grab.

A choice of installation locations like a PA VST3 folder and bigger GUIs would be nice.v1o wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 12:35 pmYes the PA installer doesn't know what is installed and isn't. It also doesn't know what is up to date and what is out of date. It can't even activate licenses or repair/uninstall installations.antic604 wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 12:31 pmIs it, though? Last time I checked - 5-6 months ago - their installer couldn't really tell what is already installed, if there are any upgrades for my stuff, etc. basic things. Is it better now?fceramic wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 11:50 am Why can't Waves just look at Plugin Alliance, which is such a dream to license and install?
I'd pay $29 for WUP, and maybe a million more might.

Ouch! My Waves Gold + RenMaxx bundle is out of WUP. I can't use some of its plugins V11 in Logic 10.5.1 right now b/c of graphic bug(s).
Personally I never WUP. Have the option to upgrade from Gold+RenMaxx+L2+MaxxVolume to a complete Platinum bundle for $94.20 (Waves Store).
I'll think about it.

It really depends how their GUI's work, I think. Could be a lot of work, could be very little work. I'd assume that it's more work in Waves case, especially as many of the plugins are pretty old, and hail from times where GUI size wasn't even much of a consideration, when everyone worked on 1024x768, or later on 1920x1080 anyway.DrGonzo wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2020 5:35 pm I can't even imagine how much work it would be to create proper upscaling UIs for all their plugins.
