Waveform own GUI for plugins

Hi,
Is it possible to configure Waveform to use its own GUI for plugins by default?
Since the 90% of problematic plugins cause crashes only when I try to open their GUI, this would be a huge help.
By "own GUI" I mean Waveform's simple little window with sliders. It is already applied for plugins with no gui, but I want to use this for all plugins.
Thanks in advance,
Marton

I was looking for this setting for an hour without success, then I have sent a feature request to Tracktion.
To me almost all 3rd-party plugins are loaded successfully to track BUT half of the plugin GUIs make Waveform crash when I try to open them.
Anyone having similar issues? Is it normal?
Maybe others also find this feature useful. (included in most of other DAWs)
Ubuntu 18.04. Waveform Version 11.0.26 (Built: 8 April 2020) (64-bit)

I think this would be a great feature for Waveform. I use an older laptop and can get into OpenGL or related graphics issues with certain plugin GUIs that will either not properly render the GUI or as you suggest, crash W.marcelpres wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2020 12:22 am Hi,

I've created work arounds for these issues by using the faceplate feature, which is cool, yet building a custom faceplate is a time soak, which the feature you're requesting would resolve with a fix that includes having the basic slider GUI able to be in a detached floating space as opposed to the faceplate being stuck in the bottom of the screen control panel. This is a great option when I use Reaper. Plus there can be issues with automation of plug parameters not showing animation in certain plug GUIs, which I'd think would be resolved by using the basic generic GUI.
Will pass this along to the Waveform devs.

If you're interested, you can request to join the developers test team. I don't know if there are openings, yet you could reach out here to check it out: https://tracktion.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I can say that the devs are at full crank right now, resolving a lot of bug reports and busy with Waveform 12 development. I've not seen a response to your request, yet will pass along any dev response that comes along. This likely being a significant project if it's accepted, means that it will likely be a while before any action is taken. Perhaps this could be a Waveform 12 feature. We can dream!

Pierre, do you know if they are looking at adding the option to see all of a track's automation lanes at the same time?

Great question! I was just writing up a BR / FR for the dev team pointing out automation track display bugs (submix tracks not working), and the glaring omission of a rack plugin automation track display option.Double Tap wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 3:03 pm Pierre, do you know if they are looking at adding the option to see all of a track's automation lanes at the same time?
At the moment, you can use the right click option - Add automation tracks for each active parameter on this track. Sadly, this option is broken in the current beta for the top submix track, and rack plugins are not given this option. Hope this is resolved soon.

Thanks - when I right-click the A button in 11.1.25, it just brings up the same menu as when I left click.PierreG wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:43 pmGreat question! Thing is, I'd like to see all the live automation lanes active in one track at the same time. I was doing a synth line with at least six different parameters being automated and it was very laborious trying to keep track of them, and in fact quite difficult to see which one was being shown.

I should have clarified, right click on the + and you should see the option I described.Double Tap wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 11:48 pm Thanks - when I right-click the A button in 11.1.25, it just brings up the same menu as when I left click.
