I've just purchased RX8 Elements version to help me archive my vinyl collection. So far I've found it to be very good for my purpose but I would like to try out a couple of 64bit VST plugins I have. I'm using Windows 10 Pro, 64bit.
The problem is, I can't get RX8 to recognise them. I know they work because I have used them in Reaper DAW.
I have placed them in the default VSTPlugins folder folder, along with a number of other plugins and also the supplied iZotope plgins. When I scan the folder for plugins, it finds most, but not the ones I have placed there, not even as unsupported.
The plugin extension is .vst3, not .dll as most others seem to be, could this be the problem?

VST3 operates in a different way and the plug-ins have to go in a specific directory depending on if they're 32 or 64 bit;

Thanks for that, I have placed the .vst3 in that folder and rescanned but it still does not show up in the list.donkey tugger wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2020 7:23 am

They broke the batch processor in RX8, which tech support assures me will be addressed in the first bug fix/update. Instead of simply saving every file to its own folder, the precise folder for each file must to specified. That kind of defeats the purpose of even having a batch processor.

Best batch truncate tool I’ve ever used is Myriad. It’s amazing.

Is it worth upgrading to?

If you have Standard or Advanced, and use the Music Rebalance, it's well worth the upgrade. That module is vastly improved. They've also added a Guitar Denoise to Standard and Advanced which works pretty well. Otherwise, it's more of a tossup.
