I am very happy and I won quite a few of their products. I am not a sound designer or a synth expert, but I play with Falcon quite a bit and find it deep, complex but effective and I love the sound. Their world instruments library is par with any other high quality set of ethnic instruments out there, their synth emulations are just as good as my Arturia collection, and I love both. In general, and without being an extreme expert in keyboards/synth (I'm a strings player) I really, really like UVI products.

I absolutely adore UVI, I have bought so much from them and always very happy with their products.

Thanks for the info. As I regularly use ethnic stuff and don't have a full solution yet, I will look into this. Which ones apart from Uvi can you recommend?
Some other ethnic libraries I use (and it's not really my main thing at all, for full disclosure, I just use these as "ornamental" background items) along with UVI is some 8Dio instruments (https://8dio.com/instrument-category/ethnic/), and some Rast libraries (https://rastsound.com/), along with the five or six libraries in NI Komplete (Cuba, West Africa...)... I am probably forgetting a few, but out of all of these, UVI World Suite 2 always comes first for me.

It does work for me, after moving the 64-bit plugins to my 64-bit VST2 folder. I have the 1.6 installer that I got from Sonnox about 5 years back.

I sold Vocalstrip2 and Drumstrip from my SSL2 purchase with minimal hassle. It is a standard iLok transfer, plus an extra step where they approve the transfer. They are stored under a single, bundle, license.

Before I sold them I emailed SSL and they confirmed that it was fine to sell and transfer the plugins. This was about a month ago.

It would have been even easier if I hadn’t registered the iLok codes (transfer fees and 90 day iLok transfer rule).

Good to know. Wow, that means someone could sell the unregistered bundle (if there is a code) or yeah just sell the lot after iLok removal - actually was there iLok fee of $25 or did SSL remove from iLok on their end as some companies like Oeksound do this?

As far as I can tell there's no way to sell them without registering them - the licenses get deposited into you iLok account when you enter your username on the SSL2+ site so there's no code. The new set also has 'not for resale' on it in the iLok app.

Thanks for the heads up! At least I can sell VS2 and DS at some point down the line.. They're registered but not activated - am I right in thinking I still have to wait 90 days and pay the fee in that case or is that just if you've activated them? I struggled to find anything definitive about that.

Is a no-brainer. I own it for a while. Don't know what I paid; more, but not to much. I like that thing.
I wasn't going to buy it, because i already have Soundtoys, and PSP vintage warmer, and RC-20 Retro Colour, but i am tempted!

@BONES will be well up for this!
Thanks for encouraging me. :D This Audiothing is a fantastic plug! Nothing like the aforementioned plugs. Did you tell BONES ?

One thing to note is that my licences were not marked as NFR in the iLok manager, they were marked as 'Allow Transfer: Yes'. So maybe things have changed.

I guess the best thing to do is sell the licences and then enter the buyers iLok username on the SSL site.

Once they are deposited in your iLok account you have to wait 90 days even if you haven’t activated them — I just had that problem.

I had to pay the iLok fee as usual, then I was informed that I had to wait for authorisation.

Thanks for the clarification, I was thinking there was some sort of SSL/iLok account linking process when I registered but I'm probably misremembering.

It's only the new bundle that apparently isn't for resale by the way, the old Drumstrip and Vocalstrip 2 are sellable for me once I've waited it out. Wish I'd known the new ones wouldn't be before registering them but at least anyone else in the same situation will know now!

Edit: Also worth mentioning for anyone else that if you already have the previous software you also get another six month trial of the full suite. No idea if there's any sort of time limit on taking advantage of those but if not you might have a full year's worth.

Post

If you bought an SSL interface prior to Nov 1, looks like they are still letting you get these new plugins! Awesome.

It'll be deposited as a new NFR product group. And you get another 6-month demo of all their plugins.
