I'm glad you aren't Dog... I'd miss guitars, electric pianos and organs and all the other instruments that play more than one note at a timeBONES wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 3:43 amYou say "awesome", I say boring and pointless. If Dog had wanted people to play sloppily, He wouldn't have created Quantise, would He? And don't get me started on the playing of chords, which to my mind should be a mortal sin, punishable by death.pdxindy wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:27 amJust because it has no use-case for you doesn't mean it has no use-case for others. I regularly do stuff like play a G chord and slide it up to an Am... needs MPE to do that. Even just a straight slide from one major chord to another has a pleasing subtle variation cause the fingers are never in perfect sync like using a pitch wheel to do it. Sometimes I may slide from a C to a D but let one finger lag behind on purpose... Such nuances can sound lovely, just like similar techniques guitar players use. MPE is awesome!

Is it only me or the retrospective record is a bit poorly implemented?
For example: You have a 4 bar loop and you are toying around. Then you press the "retrospective record" and you get a 4 bar long event with all the notes overlapping.
I didn't had much time to experiment, so I'm assuming that I'm missing something?

BONES, you are my favorite cranky old musician.BONES wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 3:43 amYou say "awesome", I say boring and pointless. A general thing I'm wondering about (probably also present in Studio One 5): I have a FPS overlay running which comes from Geforce Experience, a service program which comes with the Nvidia graphics driver. It usually shows the current frames per second in full screen applications like games, but, whenever I launch Studio One, it also shows in the Studio One program window, as well as in every popup window, e.g. the instruments or effect window of Studio One.
Does anyone know what that is about? I always thought it would only show up in full screen applications... happens in Cubase as well, BTW, not just Studio One. Do they have some special graphical thing which makes the Geforce overlay think it's a full screen application?
Edit: Testing it again, I realized that it only does that when I add an instance of a NI plugin to the project. Happens with Massive X, Replika XT, and also with Dirt. So, it seems to have something to do with the graphics tech of NI's plugins.

Maybe they use Open GL for rendering and the overlay "thinks" you're running a game?

I suspect something like that. The more current NI plugins are a bit weird in terms of how the GUI is rendered.
The weird thing is, even when I remove the NI plugins from the project then, the FPS counter is still shown for every window in Studio One.
Once you add a NI plugin, it shows the FPS counter, and it's not going away, until you close and restart Studio One.
Anyway, it doesn't bother me much, it's just weird.

I think there are high chances! I did upgraded three times as I remember! Once in JRR Shop and latest one from Plugin Boutique.

About the same chances as accidentally walking into a lamp post or tripping over a kerb.HM wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 6:14 am What are the chances for a half price offer on upgrades to version 5 this Black Friday ?
If not likely, then when ?
Thanks ☺

If I were you I’d buy a licence here on the forum. I have good experiences buying unused licences here, I bought my copy of SO5 here a couple of months agoHM wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 6:14 am What are the chances for a half price offer on upgrades to version 5 this Black Friday ?

If you want to make a nice pedal steelguitar alike track with a midi instrument, then polyphonic pitch bend and per note edit is very much needed.BONES wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:56 amExactly! No point in a feature that has no use-case. That said, I can actually think of a use or two but it's as easily achieved with two instances of the instrument.teilo wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2020 4:48 amNo, that's different. Bitwig has polyphonic pitchbend and per-note tuning... I honestly can't see a use for it.
I did some very convincing pedal steel on my Ensoniq TS12 (controlled by Ensoniq SQ80) which has polyphonic aftertouch, and the ability to only pitch bend the pressed keys, but not the notes held by the sustain pedal.
That way i could bend some notes two semi tones (pitch bend) and other notes one semi tone (polyphonic aftertouch) at the same time
All this i had to do in realtime when recording to the Ensoniq sequenser.
Nice if this was editable here in a 2020 modern DAW

You could just create separate instances of a plugin on different tracks and apply different bend settings to them if you’re programming it rather than playing. That’s how I ape a B bender guitar sound.

Do we have some new updates that will push Presonus (especially bugs wise). Cubase 11, Live 11, Pro Tools. FL Studio 21 (next year?), and DP 11 I guess. Studio Is not replacing Pro Tools.

What bugs? I ain't seen no bugs. S1's stability is it's biggest asset for me, it's way better than Cubase on that front.
