Why easy if you can have it complicated...; - )
A standard Midi controller is so much cheaper than an Eurorack fader... Why would you waist valuable ADCs for a fader??? (Oh, the sun is moving so much more analogue if I control it with my Rack - can't you see that...???(wait until I move it with audio rate; - ) )

Here's the answer (vid below), let me know if you still don't get it and i'll explain!

Applying a curve and translate it to OSC to any controller is certainly not only possible with an Eurorack fader... (I am a Max user since version 2.0 und thus entitled to say its easy peasy...)
I do get that its fun though (to burn resources if you got them...).

What's the resolution of your MIDI fader?....... how many bits?

Post

How many pixels do you have? 16384? Can you distinguish the 3 degrees turn of your object? (Of course you‘d smooth the fader...)
It is better to translate a fader directly to OSC - of course it is...!
I never had a doubt that indistinguishable differences make a difference...
I even think its a cool project and fun to set up...
This is not a critique, its just an amusing observation...

LOL, of course you have to smooth your 8 bit fader, enjoy the lag that'll introduce.......

Midi controllers are either 7-bit or 14-bit (16384)... What was the framerate of a video signal?
Its still amusing...; - )
In a Cycling thread there is a DIY solution with a Teensy mentioned.
https://cycling74.com/forums/high-resol ... ontrollers
Its better if this thread remains productive...
