Hi!! I was wondering if is there any other way of going back and forth from Tracktion Waveform 11 to Pro Tools other than creating linear files by means of plain-exporting tracks and then importing in the counter-part software.
Not sure about it, just wondering. Thanks for any comment!!!

Check this out as another option: https://www.aatranslator.com.au
Its not something we actively test, but we have heard good things about this conversion system over the years
Personally the safest method is the stem/render option and given the plugins used are likely going to be different between the 2 DAW's, you don't really loose any flexibility
Having done this a few times with collaborators myself, I found we did it slightly differently each time to suit the exact project - some times i would create stem's, sometimes with both wet/dry versions, sometimes I would share all the individual tracks.....
Given that rendering is so quick/easy it really came down to personal preference for the task at hand

As TSC recommends stems are the cheapest and safest way to go - create wet & dry stems and you are good to go
BUT
If you bounce down a bad xfade or you don't leave enough 'handles' or you burn your automation into the stem and I could go on and on it may be difficult to recover.
Stems are certainly one very good way to go it just depends on where you are at in your session and where you need to be and what the purpose is and how much detail you need to convert (eg automation, bpm, clip volumes, etc, etc) - that will indicate what is best for you
Email me (info@aatranslator.com.au) and we can run some test conversions so you can make the best choice for your individual needs.
