I was really hoping Bounce in Place, Disable and hide tracks, multi clip select and fade/trim, gain on clips and last not but least midi note split. All small workflow enhancements which were high on the FR list. Well..I think it is still a good update and since MPE and Comping is out of the way hopefully we might see more rapid development about workflow enhancements.

I think they have multi clip select. The whizz bang stuff has diverted attention away from the more useful workflow improvements. I was guilty of this myself and I was actually looking for the workflow stuff, haandypryce wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:27 pm I was really hoping Bounce in Place, Disable and hide tracks, multi clip select and fade/trim, gain on clips and last not but least midi note split. Hi,
What I mean is selecting clips without excluding the space in between. So for example selecting clip 1 and 3 on the same track but skipping 2 kind of thing.

This video definitely helped. There were a lot of features that I'm looking forward too there. Stuff I was hoping Bitwig would have by now but they seem to be dragging their feet on. Scales in the PR, Scene Follow Actions, Updated Clips Follow Actions. Comping/Takes. The updated macros system with variation snapshots (missed opportunity to do parameter locking like NI imo). There is a definitely a lot to like in this update, way more then Live 10 imo.

It looks like that on paper. But I bough 10 then. I'm selling 10 now. It's still clunky and sluggish and for some reason looks way worse than 10, with lots of wasted space. After few years with modern, nimble software like Bitwig and S1 this is simply unacceptable for me.apoclypse wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:18 pm There is a definitely a lot to like in this update, way more then Live 10 imo.
And to think I was hyped just few hours ago

The more new instruments and devices they add in the more I regret some of my VST purchases. The spectral stuff looks interesting. How does they new hybrid reverb stack up vs the established favourites? Any opinions yet?

For my defense I really did try, didn't I? I actually had to write to Ableton to cancel my pre-order
It's not like I'm ditching it because of some preconceived love for other DAW. I gave it a fair shake and it simply doesn't stack up for how I like to work now and what I expect from modern software app. That's it. I applaud the devs for huge amount of work, lots of new features - comping, scene follow actions, MIDI probability, macro snaphots - and especially new devices are great, but I either don't need them or I can work around them. I can't work around for the speed, comfort and feel of stability/safety I get elsewhere, though. That's it and I realise it's very subjective and personal and someone else can see this completely the other way around. And that's cool.

Hmm I always thought Live was very efficient with space. Bitwig has that huge top bar that I couldn't figure out how to hide. To that I tried too hard, I just don't like the interface : pantic604 wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 9:41 pm It looks like that on paper. But I bough 10 then. I'm selling 10 now. I'm talking about new clip properties panels, that suddenly got 2x wider with lots of wasted space below:

Compared to v10 (notice next actions panel is not even visible above!!!):

I didn't complain from 9-10 because I assumed there would be massive updates coming to 10 in the future, including a significant 10.5 release, with no added upgrade cost. That is what happened with 9-9.5. We had 5 years of life with 9, with 9.5 being released 2.5 years in. Wow!SLiC wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 6:46 pm Its so funny how many people are disappointed with this update, I thought 9-10 was a pitiful and cost twice as much, others seemed to think it was great- I think this update is great!
Today proves that assumption regarding 10.5 was wrong. So I look at the merits of what 11 adds, and now assume that there will be no significant 11.5 update included in the future. Based on what I see today in 11, and given that 11.5 probably won't happen, I'm not compelled to upgrade.
At least this isn't as underwhelming as Cubase 11. Hopefully the early info on that new release is wrong, because that appears to be an impressively underwhelming update.
