Maybe if I wouldn't have way more advanced tools/plugins than those introduced in C11 then maybe I would even consider this update.
But €99.99 for new export options and automation curves in midi editor... hell no. Steinberg once again is falling behind the competition.

Dunno about that. S1 v5 was pretty lame, and they charge 160 € for it.
Anyway, as usual, I can only recommend to vote with your wallet. If you don't feel like the upgrade is worth, keep the money in the pocket. I did so with S1 v5. There's nothing in there which would justify spending so much money for it for me.

Can somebody that already upgraded please confirm, that I can:
1) address more than 8 physical CPU cores on Windows now?
Steinberg mentions "Heavy Realtime Processing on systems with more than eight cores", but that can mean pretty much anything. Either way, considering the "Tesla Expensive" "Intel MacPro 28 Core" rig, and AMD CPU's basically "starting" with 16 cores now (exaggeration), that has been a long overdue topic - dare I say, almost too late now.
2) replace audio in video?
A feature we had in Cubase 8 still, only to be taken away from us with Cubase 8.5 (because of Quicktime going belly up on Windows) and it wasn't implemented ever since.
EDIT: answered here - and the answer is "no"
These are the two feature (long overdue) "upgrades" that I'd be interested the most, and tells me where/how to invest in other areas (hardware upgrades, 3rd party tools that "extend" Cubase's features)
Apparently, the "MIDI Tools" have been updated as well, like... double click or CTRL+Click and it removes MIDI notes or something. But it wasn't listed on their... uhm... presentation page. It's also nice to finally see Bézier curves in Cubase. Only took Steinberg how many paid versions since both FL Studio and Studio One had that feature? So... 3 years? 4 years?

I'm currently checking out the Steinberg Downloader... you can't download anything right now (I only get error messages). Not only that...
...no ISO?! It actually lists everything to download separately (31 download files, lots of EDM and HipHop stuff... why?!)
So the usual launch-day hiccups (incl. lack of a demo version).
Time to sit back and wait for reports from "Early Adopters" then.

This actually is better than 20GB of ISO. Like some time ago I was on weak internet connection and I wanted to DL Cubase only. I had to DL entire ISO with all those samples and crap that I'm not using at all. I prefer separate installers so for me it's good thing.Compyfox wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 10:57 am ...no ISO?!
